I ordered the three rolls that did not contain either shrimp or crab, which seemed to be 95% of the offerings. I ordered spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and salmon. My wife ordered the Chirashi Don.
The fish was fresh. The rolls were pretty good – nothing special, but I wouldn’t complain eating them again. My wife enjoyed the Chirashi Don saying that the addition of the crunchy crab was nice, but it could have been served warm.
Service was barely adequate. Having not been provided napkins, we asked another server for some and his surliness foreshadowed that he wasn’t going to bring any. With our server pulling the “disappearing waiter” routine, we finally asked one of the busboys for napkins and got some. We didn’t see our waiter until he came by at the end and we requested the bill.
The only thing I did not like was that one of the employees without even being asked started bad mouthing his coworkers to the customer. Personally I feel it makes the employee look bad as well as the business. Aside from that everything else was great. The food was delicious the sushi was super good. We got the Whataroll(I think that’s what it was called) the Super Dragon, and I forgot the name of the other one. I also got the Steak and Chicken off of the Dinner combination and that too was really good, and of course you can’t forget the beet, Sapporo is a very tasty beer, if you haven’t tried it, do it, or get Asahi it’s also a good Japanese beer.
Will add to the review after our dine in experience. Everyone deserves a second chance
The food was phenomenal- service was great. I’ll go again… at least 6 times a year (sea food luvaa!!)
The food is served in the traditional courses: soup, salad, rice, meats and finally your veggies. I have included shots of each course as they arrived from my steak and scallop order, including a few shots of the artistry that goes into cooking the food while you watch.
I cannot compliment the food here enough. I have been eating here for years and they have some of the freshest sushi (ranging from $5-15/roll), excellent main dishes and some of the best fried rice i have had. However, what makes this restaurant stand out is their level of service. We encountered some of the most polite staff that I have ever seen. Our main server was Ryan, and every answer was either, “Yes, sir.”, “Right away, sir.”, or “My pleasure, sir.” Drinks were refilled before we even knew they were low and at every course change he asked how it was and if we required anything else when he cleared the table for the next round. Other servers, who did not currently have a table would also check on our status while Ryan was tending to our orders. One young woman even mistook my son because of his long hair and referred to him as ‘madame’. When she left, he turned to me and said, “You know, I am not even slightly offended by that since she was so polite about it. Hard to get upset when she’s that nice.”
Over all the experience was great. Excellent food, good conversation with our table and wonderful service. It was the perfect way to cap off a long week of work and it is something I am looking forward to doing again soon.
The hibachi is where the real magic happens. The chefs are absolute entertainers, flipping utensils, creating flaming onion volcanoes, It’s a high-energy performance that’s as fun to watch as it is to eat. The food itself—whether it’s the tender steak, juicy shrimp, or perfectly seasoned fried rice—comes out hot and flavorful every time. It’s a feast for both your taste buds and your eyes.
