Due to medical appointments and all the cold weather schedule changes of the week we found ourselves with the time to check out The Naked Egg Cafe as we’ve been wanting to do for a while. The place was hopping, parking was made even more challenging by all the piled up snow, but luckily another patron was leaving before we gave up . Even though it was busy, we were greeted promptly and offered our choice of seating without much of a wait. Hot coffee came quickly which given the temperatures, was quite welcome. Because it is no longer standard practice, I have to give props when coffee is served with cream and a spoon together!! I never got our server’s name but he was professional and efficient even though he was clearly slammed. Bruce ordered eggs over easy with the house made corned beef hash, side of bacon, and English Muffin. The bacon was better than average, thick slab and cooked to a perfect crisp, the rest was unremarkable. I ordered the California Omelette, with a side of the Corned Beef Hash, English Muffin and it came with Tater Tots. My Omelette was delicious, it comes with house made salsa, which I ordered on the side because I like to regulate my own condiment levels. I have to say, that’s probably the best in house made salsa I’ve ever had, well balanced and fresh tasting too! My Omelette was missing the avocado that was supposed to be on it as a topping, but once I got our server’s attention, he remedied it promptly and with grace. The Corned Beef Hash was better than average, tasty, not too salty, good with ketchup on it. I’m not a huge Tater Tot fan but Hubby gladly took what I didn’t want . The heat could have been turned up a bit, and the restroom could use a deep clean, but given the outside temperature and how busy the place was yesterday, I can give a pass on both. Solid brunch/breakfast choice. Not sure I would make the drive when there are good or better choices closer to where I live, but if in the area, I would not hesitate to grab a bite here again!

Been meaning to come here forever since I have driven past it a million times on the way back and forth from Huntingdon to State College when visiting the area. It was really good! Nice menu, friendly service, solid flavors all around. Benedict was excellent, I especially appreciated the scratch hollandaise and the use of sliced ham instead of Canadian bacon. The corned beef hash was top notch as well. Doesn’t hurt that they serve Standing Stone Coffee!

This breakfast and lunch restaurant has incredibly good food. the waitstaff and the owner are extremely friendly and go above and beyond for their customers. We came here twice during our 5-day trip to to State College, PA. Thank you so much for making it extra special.

The food was really good, hot and fresh. I got the eggs and hash. The fries are shoe string. It’s a nice little cozy place. The service was good. Accessible outlets to sit and work on my laptop. This place is almost always busy when I pass by. I’m glad I finally got to stop. I also got a soda. Price was close to $20.

I live hidden gems like this and this place didn’t disappoint for breakfast! We ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and I believe “everything on the farm” (eggs, scrapple, tots, and toast with fresh squeezed orange juice. This is how you do breakfast—simple, easy and delicious Went back twice while on our trip and will definitely come back the next time we’re in Pennsylvania.

The Naked Egg is a popular choice in the area. The popularity and higher end food options make this feel almost special when headed to State College. We’ve driven by a few times but this was our first time stopping in. Parking can be tricky when it’s busy but even if you snag a spot cross your fingers because the limited seating means you might still have a wait.
Our young waiter seemed capable but he also seemed to have tables all the way across the room so getting his attention when needed proved to be difficult. The food was amazing though and I definitely want to return to try a few other things I spied on the menu.

I love this little cafe, I would say the food here is an absolute 10/10. Everything arrives to the table in a timely manner and it is fresh and delicious. The hot chocolate we ordered even was decorated like a cute little bear. However, this is a very popular cafe and is always busy and you are going to wait. We had to wait outside for about 45 minutes and our server wasn’t the nicest and I felt a little rushed. But overall I still love this place and will be back again!

I wanted to try a chicken oyster. It was delicious and served with mustard sauce. The cinnamon pancakes were also mouth watering. They were sweet but not too sweet. Macchiato was miniature. Not what I’m used to. The waitress warned me when I ordered. I ended up getting a regular coffee as well. Service was 5 stars. My waitress was warm and friendly. The place was busy and was getting busier before I left. I would definitely eat there again.

Their food was incredible. Their coffee was the best I’ve had in the area since moving upstate. The options were interesting and there was plenty to chose from. Not your same old same old breakfast place. We will definitely be back to this place.
