Ridiculously expensive restaurant with below average food and vibes. I have tasted way better sushi with less than half of the price. I have no idea why this place is that expensive. Not fancy, no unique taste not even average !
Definitely not recommended.

Tokyo Tokyo, a popular Japanese fast-food restaurant chain, was established in the Philippines in 1985. It was a pioneer in bringing Japanese cuisine to the Philippines, offering dishes like tempura, tonkatsu, yakisoba, sushi, and sashimi. A key element of their early success was the “unlimited rice” with their dishes, a concept that was not common in other Japanese restaurants at the time.

Key aspects of Tokyo Tokyo’s history:

Founding and Early Growth:

The first Tokyo Tokyo opened on April 22, 1985, at the Quad Carpark (now Glorietta) in Makati. The chain’s focus on making Japanese food accessible and affordable, along with its “unlimited rice” concept, contributed to its rapid growth.

Pioneer in Japanese Fast Food:

Tokyo Tokyo was the first Japanese fast-food restaurant in the Philippines.

Expansion and Ownership:

By the end of 2013, Tokyo Tokyo had grown to 50 locations nationwide. Today, it is owned by Hansbury Inc., under the One Food Group, which also owns the Philippine franchises for KFC and Mister Donut.

Mission and Vision:

Tokyo Tokyo aims to make Japanese cuisine accessible to everyone, offering a wide range of high-quality dishes.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting this quality of food & service, we were absolutely blown away!
The restaurant interiors was contemporary & so calming.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the restaurant manager that was so humble n friendly.
The staff were so presentable & well acquainted with the menu.
We tried their sushi n one of the Asian salads n had a beautiful glass of local white wine.
The quality of the fish used was extraordinary!!
N ontop of all that they provided us with an amazing cheesecake that was complimentary.
Absolutely in love & definitely going back.
Highly recommend 😉

I’d say it’s just okay — a bit pricey for what you get. Good for a one-time try.

I loved the place, it is very fancy and well designed. You feel calm and happy as soon as you go in. Food is amazing . Menu is not big and i recommend appetizers than main dish. Crab salad is out of this world. For deserts, we tried cotton candy chocolate cake and i can’t express how amazing it is.

Great dining experience. The ambiance is perfect—nicely chilled and laid back, creating an ideal setting for a relaxed meal. The menu offers a nice variety. Special thanks to our waiter, Youssef, who went above and beyond to make our experience smooth. Youssef’s attentive and friendly service, coupled with his knowledgeable suggestions, added a personal touch to the dining experience. Highly recommended if you’re seeking a nice blend of ambiance, diverse menu options, and exceptional service. Thanks again Youssef, for ensuring our visit was nothing short of extraordinary.

Came with family for dinner on Coptic Christmas. Took 30 minutes for any service to approach us and the restaurant was mainly empty. Half of the menu wasn’t even available on a holiday. Service was very blunt and unwelcoming, felt judged as we were eating. Food was priced high in comparison to the area and for below par quality. Fastest thing to come out the whole time was the check to pay and leave. Horrible experience for such a nice looking place. No wonder it was empty.
