We came in randomly on a Friday night and so glad we did. We had Martin as our hibachi cook and he was awesome. Quantity was amazing – enough for 4-5 people. Will come back!

I absolutely love this place. The staff, and the service are always top-tier, great drinks, and most importantly, flavorful food! I typically get the Ahi Tuna with extra veggies and extra garlic with fried rice. Of course, a large carafe of hot sake! Very fresh and tasty sushi! This place is more affordable than many places and provide full portions and flavor compared to other locations I’ve tried. Please check them out!

This place has been my go-to for over a decade but my most recent visit was similar to other recent negative reviews. I used to visit the sushi bar pretty regularly, but due to pregnancy I took a 9 month hiatus. I had been looking forward to getting my regular order for soooo long. I picked up my food to go and when I got home my sushi was the smallest I’d ever seen them serve and not nearly as flavorful as I’m used to them being. Then when I checked my bank statement the next day, I saw that I’d been charged DOUBLE what I’d been paying for so many years. I was not told a total at the restaurant when I paid and I didn’t think to ask and when I called them to ask about the charge I was coldly told the prices had gone up. Understandable in this economy but in that case they definitely need to be clearly stating the price during pickup. I told her that I looked over a menu in the restaurant while I was waiting at the front counter and the prices were the same on the menu as they always had been and she just said that it hadn’t been updated yet but the prices have gone up. Of course no receipt was offered and again I didn’t think to ask since I got the exact same order as I’d gotten for years. I understand that the owner is going through some personal issues but it seems like he doesn’t really care to make anything better. Probably will be trying some new sushi places from now on unfortunately.

Came here with my family for my birthday dinner and everything was pretty good. Server Juan was sweet and our chef was awesome. The chef helped my birthday end on a high note. I would come back and ask for my same cook as he had a good sense of humor. He kept the birthday lady happy!
The 2 sushi rolls was good and I liked the flavor of the soup appetizer that comes with hibachi meals.
Also loved the aesthetic of the restaurant. I’m a big lover of my house plants so to see so many plants was pretty awesome. And the purple lights were cool. The restroom was clean and equipped with a changing table, good hand soap at the sink and good water pressure for hand washing.
The only things I didn’t like here was the sauce choices on the side. The yum yum sauce tasted like ginger dressing and the teriyaki sauce was extremely watery, so it didn’t coat the hibachi meats.
Another downside was the signage outside. The sign being broken gave my family and I a bad first impression but it didn’t keep us from going in and trying the place out.
This was my first time at this restaurant so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m glad I came and will definitely be back.

Definitely better than Miyako (they don’t even have good rice)!!! Tokyo is my new Japanese Go-To in McDonough ❤️ the food was hot, had a great flavor, and the yum yum even had what I assumed was a light fresh garlic hint to it which was so nice and refreshing to compliment the meal.
It’s cozy, dim, and features a lot of plants 🙂

I am exceedingly disappointed with how they have seemed to have doubled their prices.
I called to place an order for pickup, what I expected to be around $60-70. To be fair the lady taking my order on the phone did tell me my total, but it cut out a bit so I didn’t hear her clearly. Assuming it was around what I thought, I got to the restaurant and was greeted with a $110 total.
The young man at the front was very polite, I have 0 issues with the staff there. They were very helpful. When I looked at my receipt, the unagi and sake nigiri I had ordered was double the price than listed online. $5 for one piece of eel? What? The hibachi plate which was 17.95 online was suddenly 23.95. And my miso soup has.. rotini pasta instead of tofu? What?
I understand in this economy needing to raise prices, this place had been my go-to for good quality sushi at a reasonable price. But the quality has gone down, and the prices have gone up. I won’t be back sadly. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PRICING ONLINE! I feel duped and sad.

We were in town for a robotics competition and the boys love a new sushi house. We stopped in and was very delighted to hear that they had a great menu for sushi bar and we pretty much got just about everything. The sashimi was still super cold and fresh and the order for an extra large bowl of miso soup with spectacular to look at and tasted great. The chef and the waiter took good care of us but it was a little smoky due to the hibachi tables surrounding us at the bar. Added it as a favorite to my Google maps and when in the area plan on returning.

Food was like the chef – bland. Hardly said a word to any of us beyond confirming our orders. No show at all. (Isn’t that part of the hibachi experience?) Wait staff was nicer. At least he spoke to us. Floors were sticky (a personal pet peeve). There’s too many other hibachi places in the area to afford to be “meh.” Def will seek out one of those.

I Ispent over $50 for 2 meals the size of kids meals. $18 for a side of rice and steak? No noodles no shrimp appetizer . Soup bowl was small, didn’t include any dressing for the salad. Yum yum sauce smaller than a shot glass?! I could have went to the mall for this…my salmon meal was small too.
