I’ve been coming here for years and it may be my favorite restaurant in all of Statesboro. Definitely the best Japanese cuisine/sushi/sashimi! I’ve even heard that they get fresh fish shipments every day. Convenient location too, right by Walmart Neighborhood Market/Jimmy John’s. Great atmosphere too – the lighting and decor is very nice. Feels sophisticated yet cozy. Overall: Generous portions, great pricing, *the* very best sushi & sashimi in town. Can’t recommend this place enough!
When I was checking out there was a short little white girl helping me. I pulled my debit card out and she stated the price then took my card. It took me a second to process and but I said “that can’t be right, are your prices different online? She tapped my card to complete the purchase and said “yes they are different online” I asked why and she said “because we don’t update the prices online” I said “……ok can I speak to a manager?” And she literally said “no” and just walked away. I’ve never seen such horrible attitude and customer service. I have the receipt and screenshots of the menu and I will be disputing the charge. You should keep your menu updated and also fire the short white girl working the till on 5/15/2025. She sucks. How many people have y’all ripped off?
I was somewhat disappointed to see they didn’t serve ramen, however they do serve udon so I tried it. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations.
The good: noodles were soft and chewy and generally tasty, all the ingredients tasted fresh.
The bad: the broth was virtually flavorless, the egg was fried instead of a soft boiled marinated egg and the “toppings” did not compliment the soup very well IMO. They were all regular hibachi veggies. Perhaps I was expecting too much but I have already tried good udon so this was just disappointing.
Redeeming quality: The Choose 2 lunch menu was an excellent value and everything it included was good.
Don’t FORGET the amazing tasting sushi, soup, and tempura. Loved it.
