La Morada is as satisfying as one can get for a community-oriented restaurant. I will acknowledge my bias since I’ve been coming here most of my life. I love the warm greetings from everyone in the family (who I consider family of my own). Not only do they take great care to address any dietary restrictions, but they remember your favorite orders and voice if you call/visit enough times.

The exact kind of place I would frequent multiple times a week if I could afford to live in New York. La Morada offered hospitality from the moment I walked in right until I walked out the door. They’re accommodating and attentive to their guests to a level I was not accustomed to. I greatly appreciated it and felt more welcome than I have in places I frequent where I live. I recommend the Tlacoyo, which is corn cakes with black beans and salad that includes cactus and radishes. I hope to come back sometime.

Authentic Mexican food finally. A great variety of flavors in so many dishes. I highly recommended. We live in the lower east side and it’s 100% worth the trip.

Can’t say enough about this place. It’s small, not at all fancy, but the people who work here are really friendly and helpful. It has a very homely/family feel to it, and above all, the food is SPECTACULAR.

A friend of mine was so excited ordering from them as an original Authentic Mexican food and we went to pick the food up. The lady was so generous kept adding more food for free while we were insisting on paying for the extras but she was super generous. We left the restaurant with a great vibe and a wonderful experience. Their original Mexican dishes are unmatched and we kept eating without stop until we finished the load of the food we bought.

This place is awesome. It’s a small hidden gem in the Bronx. It’s a family owned restaurant and it’s delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. They deserve their Michelin recommendation. They make their own mole sauce which is very hard to find. I love this small local restaurant. The food is delicious and I felt like I was in Mexico while eating here.

Great family run restaurant! We had a variety of Mole’s, all of which were delicious. Also they have a higher purpose around being kind and supporting others, which truly makes it special here.

Because of the owners’ involvement and activism surrounding immigration/politics – plus some of the articles that I had read about La Morada’s authentic Oaxacan cuisine – this restaurant had been bookmarked in my queue for quite some time. In searching for the perfect location for my Mexican Meetup group’s December outing, this was the first venue that came to mind.
