This place is a pretty solid. As people from NJ, we’re pretty spoiled by the quality of sushi in this state. I think it’s safe to say that the Tokyo House is quite good, maybe even better than quite good, but probably not quite as excellent as some of our favorite spots at home.
This is not the first time we’ve been here, nor will it be our last. It’s a great spot to hit on a Friday night when we come up for a bike or ski weekend.
While this is a 4 in NJ standards, I think this is a 5 in Rutland standards.

Absolutely delicious. I love my sushi, and this is good sushi. I was hoping for the roll to be slightly bigger for the price, but the presentation was beautiful. I also had what is essentially fried chicken chopped up,but it was tasty and the sauce is a must. The staff is knowledgeable and very nice.

Our first time in Rutland driving through and we stopped for lunch. We don’t eat sushi but usually you can get other dishes so we gave figured let’s try.
The servers are very nice and we were seated right away. The menu is heavy with majority sushi dishes but we found the kitchen entree page on menu and ordered the steak and salmon teriyaki, with white rice and miso soup. and veggie dumplings for an appetizer. We liked the dumplings, they are fried and well stuffed with veggies.
Our main dishes were served on hot skillets and my first bite of a grilled onion burned my top lip, the food is very hot. My salmon was good, had the skin (I don’t like) that peeled easily but the white rice was bland and not sticky, tasted dry. The steak teriyaki was terrible, sorry it was very rare and tough, he tried and ate the veggies, some of the rice and we thought it might cook a little more in the hot skillet but it didn’t. We haven’t paid for a bad meal in a long time but it’s always disappointing when you do.
We don’t know but maybe this is the best sushi restaurant, and maybe he should have ordered the chicken teriyaki. We can’t recommend and now we know, make sure we check reviews or just leave when we don’t see what we want on a menu. Spent about $32 per.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Excellent service, excellent presentation, and the freshest, most amazing sushi for miles (arguably in the entire state). Very fair pricing for the quality.
If you are a fan of sushi, (or, even if you aren’t) you are going to be 1000% satisfied with this place. Consistency is also guaranteed. 6 out of 5 stars. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who mentions they are hungry, regardless of the kind of cuisine they are craving.

Definitely eat here!!! I’ve been to Tokyo House several times and I always enjoy myself. The food is DELICIOUS, the staff is friendly, and the service is wonderful. This is really one of my happy places You can’t go wrong here!!!

The staff at Tokyo House were great, very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. This was my first time trying Japanese food, and while I appreciate the quality and presentation, it just wasn’t my personal preference.

Tasty food, attentive and friendly staff, cozy space with a nice atmosphere.
Enjoyed everything we order and did not have to take home leftovers.
Left the restaurant with filled stomachs.

Very delicious meals. Was very busy Christmas day but food still arrived within 15 minutes. Made reservations but they even took us early. The tempura with sause is amazing. Super friendly wait staff. I 10/10 recommend. It’s comparable to the food i had in japan. Big portions I demolished the noodles shown in photo
