My husband ordered Teriyaki Chicken and Steak for us both. We received only Teriyaki Chicken and no Steak. There are vegetables on only one plate and not both.

This food made me sick. I purchased today (2/8/26) shortly after they opened (around 12pm). I ordered (in person) and my food was done in less than 5 minutes (this was a red flag for me). The plate wasn’t smoking hot like it was freshly cooked (2nd red flag). My first bite was warm….by the third bite every piece of chicken was freezing cold on the inside (my vegetables were also barely warm). It seems as if this was leftover from yesterday. I say that because the food was ordered and ready in less than 5 minutes and nothing on the plate was hot. I had about 6 bites (trying to convince myself that the food wasn’t cold or old) until I just couldn’t eat anymore more. Less than 20 minutes later my stomach was turning, I was nauseous and my head was hurting very badly. This was my first time eating here as I was just visiting the area for the weekend. If you are considering between this place and another, choose the other place (there’s a really good Japanese place not far from this one that I tried and it was great!! I don’tremember the name). And to the restaurant owner/manager, there’s no need to try contact me to make this better as I will not be coming back to this establishment. If you want to satisfy me, make a commitment to serve your food fresh and do right by your customers! There’s no reason the food shouldn’t be fresh and you’ve only been open for 30 minutes into the day.

I rarely do reviews but there needs to be some improvement at this location. Especially with Red Bank growing so rapidly and restaurant options exploding. We haven’t gotten food from this Toyoko Grill location previously but probably won’t again. We did a walk in order for 2 steak and shrimp plates to go at about 4pm. The steak was barely cooked to just being brown and something was off about it. Like it wasn’t really meat. Hard to describe but some pieces tasted like they were mushy and had been squeezed out of a tube. Just gross. We couldn’t eat them because of the strange consistency. The vegetables (onions and zucchini) were raw and only 3 pieces of broccoli between the 2 orders. The shrimp and rice were fine. Very disappointing to say the least and money completely wasted.

I ordered 2 chicken rice bowls with a side of onions. Yes they were kinda busy and I didn’t mind waiting…but after 30mins I received my food. I live 5 mins away, when I got home the chicken was luke warm, the chicken tasted bland with a sour smell and didn’t have a taste, not to mention the white sauce cups were crusty around the rim. When I took the food back requesting a refund, I was told no refund because I took the food away and it was made correctly. I was told numerous times no to a refund even the manager was called. I then asked for a report to be filed because I was served food not cooked to temperature and it smelled sour. After 15 of going back and forth, I was finally given a refund. This is my 1st time back since they opened back up…..they should have stayed close no one deserves to get sick due to lack of food handling.

We ordered the steak and shrimp combo with rice and vegetables. We got home and only had 4-5 pieces of steak and 4 shrimp on each. When you pay that kind of money you expect more. Don’t think we will be coming back.

Should have read the reviews. Door Dash says 4.7 stars and the pictures look amazing. Unfortunately for almost 40 dollars a got 5 shrimp soggy balls. 6 funky squid balls. Both balls were the size of a nickle ..Maybe a dime. Almost 4 dollars for a cup of white rice. The best was the tempura shrimp. You get a way better value and flavor from Costco. They were still soggy raw in the middle. Doesn’t pay to be lazy and order to go. No more!
