Stopped by Tokyo Bistro on Saturday night for dinner. It’s pretty good sushi for Coos Bay Oregon.
I wanted some chutoro and otoro but they didn’t have any available. That was disappointing.
Instead I had Hamachi and Hamachi Toro. The Hamachi was pretty good, the Hamachi Toro not so much. It was quite a bit tougher than expected. But I would get the Hamachi again.
Also got this Ocean Safari roll. It seemed like this was the only roll available that didn’t have fried contents and wasn’t fried to finish the roll. It was good, fresh ingredients and a fresh flavor.
The fam got a few other rolls and the stacked shrimp dinner than came with soup. It was all ok.
I don’t imagine it gets much better out here in the sticks, I’d recommend this spot if you’re looking for some decent sushi in the area and I would come again.

Came here while visiting family in town. Fresh fish! Excellent rolls! I couldn’t decide between sushi or ramen, but figured being on the coast I had to try the fish! We ordered the dragon roll, salmon tempura, 911, spicy tuna, spicy Charleston, mango roll, a cucumber/ avocado/ cream cheese roll, and my favorite, the godzilla! I almost took one to snack on later. Definitely want to go back.

Our family of five enjoyed a beautiful meal on New Year’s Eve. Their staff was amazing and the food delicious! We moved to the area 24 hours before and will be returning frequently. Thank you Tokyo Bistro!!

Absolutely incredible, always uses the freshest fish, with speedy and friendly staff. Even if you aren’t a sushi fan, they definitely have something for everyone to enjoy. My husband and I have been coming here for years now, it is our favorite place to eat on the oregon coast. Truly a hidden gem.

This place is fantastic. We sampled a few dishes and were really impressed. The fish was incredibly fresh and the rolls were delicious. Our waitress was fun and made the experience even more enjoyable. The spicy tuna roll was not actually spicy, but it was still full of flavor. Overall, a great visit and we will definitely be back

Phenomenal – we are sushi connoisseurs and this place hits! Don’t sleep on Tokyo Bistro, as good as sushi gets. PS the ramen as top notch too! We will be back.

Food: Rolls were subpar. Got the Jason roll and Salmon Charleston roll. The “lightly” fried one was dripping with oil, left a puddle on the board it was served on. The other roll was alright, but not phenomenal
I did very much enjoy the Uni and Ikura.
The peanut chicken was juicy.
Service: It was one guy servicing the whole restaurant. He did amazing for a busy lunch period.
Quality of the rolls didn’t warrant the cost of them. I’d visit again, but I wouldn’t say it’s anywhere near one of my top Japanese or sushi places.

I was surprised with the freshness and quality of fishes this little place has. Four of us, we ordered some sashimi and sushi (did not take pictures of them) then ordered two different rolls (Chasing Dragon and the Godzilla)and tempura fish and veggies. The tempura fish and veggies are very good. They were fried in perfection. Fried food is not my jam, but I would recommend it.

I’ve gone here a few times before and all times were great. This time I went with my brother and my mom and we got a bento, I got the Sesame Chicken Katsu, and we also got a few sushis. One of my favorites there was the lemon drop which I believe has salmon, tuna(?), and a thin slice of lemon plus some lemon sauce. We got some appetizers as well like the octopus skewers and a mussels one. The food was very delicious and our server was super kind. I would definitely go there again.
TL;DR : Yummy food and nice people. I want the Lemon Drop sushi again

I stopped in for lunch just after noon and the restaurant was busy. I only waited about five minutes for a table and the waitress was nice. I had the tuna poke salad and the ramen with beef. The poke salad had a good teriyaki flavor. I could have done with more cucumbers but it was good. The ramen flavor was good but the noodles were packaged type noodles and the broth was cloudy not clear. The taste was good.
