The pics I posted are half-portions of Jambalaya and Red Beans & Rice. Hubs and I wanted to split them. Restaurant was amazing and served them already split.
We were wary as Wichita has had a slew of mediocre Cajun places masquerading as the real thing. Turns out, the owner’s brother lives there, and it shows. 11 out of 10. Our new favorite restaurant.
Whoever said the drinks are strong wasn’t kidding. I had a Mango daiquiri, which was delicious, and my husband had a Guinness. The wait staff was pleasant. They bring cornbread to the table while you wait. My husband ordered the blacked catfish and I had Todd’s pasta with blackened chicken.
Both were delicious. The atmosphere was nice and not too loud. With tip we spent ~50.00 each.
We’d go back.
Food was very well
Seasoned and so tender. Can’t wait to eat there again. Beet salad was delicious also.
Complimentary Corn muffin and cranberry Orange muffins. Bomb!!
Kinda dark inside.
I am looking forward to the next visit.
After reading owner response I have to let people know we also had a blackened salmon and it wasn’t good at all. So it wasn’t just “not my jam”, whatever that means. The cooking staff need to work on the “blackened” option as they burnt the food and covered it with “etoufee” and it was not good at all. Just go to Walk-Ons for your Cajun cravings.
