Staff is so friendly and helpful. You can tell they love their food and it comes through in your order. The lobster roll and onion rings, was one of the best sandwiches I have had in recently memory. Can’t wait to go try some of the other options. Thanks guys, much love!

Absolutely delicious food, served by the nicest guys around. Could buy 95 lobster rolls a week, they’re that good! Highly recommend.

Who let the dogs out…? Apparently Toby’s Dog House did, and I’m not mad about it.
This food truck at Silver Spruce Brewing on 8th Street in Traverse City is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is fun, the team is friendly, and the food hits way harder than you’d expect from a humble hotdog stand.
The Windy City Dog was a total knockout—loaded, flavorful, and gone way too fast. Then I made the “mistake” of trying the chicken tacos, and now I’m officially hooked on both. The fries? Mandatory. Don’t even think about skipping them.
Whether you’re craving a classic dog, chicken gyros, onion rings, or even the legendary German Shepard (woof!), everything coming out of this truck is top‑tier.
And while you’re already at Silver Spruce, make it a full experience and pair your food with one of their amazing brews. The combo is unbeatable.
And yes—fishy fish nights and the occasional pasta make surprise appearances too. It’s all so good you’ll want to keep coming back just to try something new.
If you’re anywhere near 8th Street, get your order in. You’ll be saying “Who let the dogs out?!” all night too.

We grabbed dinner here during Silver Spruce’s 7th anniversary, so things were busy but the service was still top notch. We ordered the French dip, Cuban, and mozzarella sticks. Food trucks rarely “wow” me, but this one does! The French dip balance of onions, meat, mushrooms, and cheese was really fantastic. The au jus was nice and salty and added to the French dip in the best ways. I tried the Cuban my partner got, and it was fantastic! I’m not a pickle person so he pulled that off my bite, but the shredded pork and ham was well proportioned. Finally, the mozzarella sticks were surprising! I didn’t have high expectations, but the breading was thick and crunchy. The marinara wasn’t an afterthought – it was chunky and flavorful, and would have been at home on a really nice Italian pasta.
Overall, I thought the prices were great for the portion sizes and high quality, and I’m usually critical of that. It’s a great addition and I hope they’re successful and stick around. Next time we’ll try their actual hot dogs!

I had the German Shepard and it was great! The toasted bun was perfect to add to the overall flavor. Fun fire pits outside and warm, cozy atmosphere inside, too.

One of the best restaurants in TC. Everything Toby makes is awesome, and there is such diversity in the offerings. From a great selection of hot dogs to great gyros to absolutely awesome seafood there is something for everyone. And it pairs great with the beers from Silver Spruce. This has become a go-to place for me at least weekly.
