This place is so good. You will need a reservation if you want to eat inside so make sure you plan ahead. The wait staff is very attentive and quick to refill coffee and drinks. One tip, these pancakes are big as yo face. Order one and see how you do. If you order two you will probably be taking left overs home. They are fluffy, huge, and good.

Good food and friendly service. My friends and I came here while visiting Austin. We chose patio seating because it was really nice outside during the morning. We got the French toast, avocado toast, BLT, a pumpkin pancake on special, and a side of hash browns. Everything was good and our server was great! It was busy for a reason. I recommend!

holy buss this place had some of the best breakfast in Austin. My gf and I came in at around noon for brunch so it was very busy but we got seated inside right away. There is not a lot of parking options but HEB is a couple blocks down so ✌️Our server was super friendly and the food tasted very good. Will be returning

Arrived for brunch around 1pm on a Saturday and only had to wait 20 because I wanted an indoor seat. The good: Breakfast sandwich was decently flavorful as was the hashbrown. They provided a fresh-made berry blend in place of jelly that was tasty. The serving plates were retro. The bad: Breakfast sandwich was tiny and overpriced for what it was. Tried the biscuit and I would say it more closely resembles the texture and flavor of cornbread plus it had a burnt-oil aftertaste. Ordered water and the cup smelled eggy and contained unfiltered tap water. French toast sticks had virtually no flavor. Horrible attention from waitstaff. 1 mini split AC system struggling to keep up. All in all, walked out with a $50 tab and little to be happy about. Place needs to focus a bit more on the details.

The Toasty Badger is a true Austin kind of place. The food is great. The restaurant is small and parking is practically non existent. Our server was generous with sharing info about the menu but never offered refills of water and so forth. Overall I really liked it and would go back at an odd type of day so seating and parking would be more available.

Missed out on the Steak and eggs special but their American Omelet was wonderfully made and you can taste the delicious ingredients in every bite.
The extra crispy bacon was tasty, a little too curly for my liking but cooked perfectly. The sausage gravy was a great add to my hashbrown and omelet.

this was honestly the best breakfast place i’ve been to in a while. chase was absolutely amazing, probably the best server ive had. the vibe inside was so cute, you feel so relaxed and truly get to enjoy the food. THE FOOD IS FIRE!!! yall need to pull up fr. my boyfriend and i are from dallas and we wouldn’t hesitate to make the drive down to austin just to eat at this place.

On the search for authentic sausage gravy once again… I had the biscuits and sausage gravy at the Toasty Badger on South Congress in Austin Texas today! Absolutely scrumptious unusual sausage gravy! A quaint little diner near the end of South Congress tourist section. Liz served me at the bar and was delightful. Reasonable prices, good music, excellent service and good food!

We made a reservation for outside and they sat us away from the heaters. It was 40 degrees outside and we asked if we could be moved to empty tables that were near the heaters. The hostess literally said “No those are for 4 people” and walked away. No accommodation. Literal empty tables. Luckily we asked our waitress if she could at least move us to a warmer area closer to the heaters for two people and she accommodated us…since the hostess did not. When we finished eating and left, the tables next to the heater were still empty. Which was disappointing. The food was good, I would rate it a 6/10.

Loved the nostalgic vibes, Food was delicious, the wait staff was so nice and attentive. Conversations were flowing, seating is a little close together but it was not an issue, everyone was respectful of others space. We had the 2 egg brekky, American omelet and the almost devoured plate was French toast sticks with banana dulce sauce. Will definitely be back when we visit.
