So glad we discovered this gem. Way superior to Chipotle (no comparison). Ingredients are all fresh and tasty. We tried the namesake dish Tlacoyo with vegan asada… absolutely delicious. The vegan al pastor is very flavorful, vegan asada super burrrito were all amazing. My kid had the quesadillas and elote in cup. Our go to for quality Mexican food in the area. Clean location with welcoming staff and attentive service.

Loved this place with great Mexican menu, more options and great Tlcayo bowl. A good choice for vegetarian’s as well. Most importantly a warm-hearted serving. Enjoyed it.

Inviting fast casual Mexican grill that offers bowls, burritos, and more. Tons of customization – delicious proteins, fresh veggies. I highly recommend the barbacoa and chicken. Hearty portions too, and friendly service.

Holy cow was this a surprised. Dropped my wife off at Mario for a haircut and snuck by to sample some tacos; the Alpastor with raw onion, salsa verde, and lime shot me back to some of the best flavors from childhood. Well seasoned, perfect balances of spice, acid and fat. We’re happy here, will come back

I’m newly into Tacos and deerfield is a crowded market with 5 places within 3-4 miles. Tossing out G&G and Chipolte as they are lackluster. Tlacoyo delivers.
The tacos are fresh with great ingredients. If it’s busy check to make sure you got everything. I’d put it in a tie with Ochoa’s on Milwaukee ave.

We had a burrito and it was great. The ingredients are fresh and people are clearly experts at rolling tight and tasty burritos.
Sadly, the experience was not very pleasant. Here’s why. Due to being on a diet, my wife brought a salad from another place. The manager gave us multiple dirty looks and then made a point of coming over and mentioning that food from other places is not allowed. While I fully understand and appreciate the policy, I believe the place should learn about the lifetime value of a customer. Now, we will never be returning, and we will also be talking about the experience in our social circles. Given our average spend at similar restaurants, I estimate the lifetime value of our family only at about least $3000. Was it worth it for you?

Authentic Mexican is hard to get outside the southwest (or the city of Chicago for that matter) but this place in Deerfield is totally legit. Simple, flavorful ingredients, made fresh in front of your eyes. Tacos are fantastic, and the signature Tlacoyos are great and worth a try. Run by some very nice folks, too.

I work near this restaurant, me and my coworker started talking about the Mexican food. This restaurant fulfilled our imagination and cravings. The sauces were perfect with the bowl of fried beans and variety of veggies. Highly recommended especially during the lunch hours. We loved it.

Great new Chipotle-esque Mexican joint. I had the burrito and elotes. The burrito was well prepped, each bite had a uniform flavor. Fresh ingredients, although they do look plain and underwhelming under the bright lights.
The elotes were fantastic, and are an actual corn cob with a generous cover of cotija. Weirdly they were served cold, I think the mayo and cheese cooled it down too much. The corn wasn’t kept warm.
The place is new and the staff are not well acquainted yet, but that can be forgiven.
I’ll be back

If you want tasty Mexican food served by a staff that has no idea what customer service is, then this place is for you!
The staff will talk back at you, give you attitude when asked to change their gloves for hygienic reasons, and they make a huge deal about giving a little extra rice.
I’m guessing they won’t last long here on the North Shore.
Save yourself the headache and go to Chipotle across the street.
