We have enjoyed the Smash Burgers here.
Everything is made in house. The bread, the ingredients, all of it tastes fresh. I ordered the Mexican meatloaf sandwich and it was excellent. The bread had jalapenos tucked under the cheese and it added just the right amount of heat.
The staff was wonderful. They realized it was our first visit and made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. Be sure to ask why it is called TB or TKB when you order because the story is fantastic.
A true hidden gem and a place we will absolutely return to!
Cheese Curds: 5/5 These were a sleeper hit. I was really not expecting much at all but they knocked it out of the ballpark with these curds. Salty, chewy, and perfectly crisp. I don’t even care that they felt like something you get from a Sysco stockiest, they were very very good.
Potato Salad: 3.5/5 My two biggest attractions to this side were the cilantro and the absence of celery. I was hoping for something very flavorful but it ended up being a potato salad with some green onions (if you don’t like green onions you might want to avoid because there are some substantial chunks of it in here). No cilantro to be found. The potatoes were well cooked and it didn’t taste bad, but again, I wanted something a little different.
Tiramisu: 1.5/5 Dry, cool whip, meh. I would avoid it next time.
Ambiance: Casual cafeteria vibes. Come with your kid’s soccer team.
Service: I went about an hour before closing. The employees weren’t very attentive or engaging, but food came out fast and hot.
Parking: A big, dedicated parking lot. Easy.
The Food Is Original
Without droning on and on, if you’re traveling I-10 believe the billboards.
If traveling any other road through CoachellaValley / JoshuaTree, east:west, north:south, paved or otherwise… set your GPS for TKB.
The Kids’ Business knows their business… ever grateful to their Mom.
The bigger, more spacious location is definitely much nicer inside than the old location. I just miss the comfort and hometown vibe of the old location!
I had the Iron Man for the first time, which was delish!!!! My friend had a smash burger and enjoyed it also.
Service was good, not quite as amazing as I remember. But the cashier was super helpful, and gave us free beverages!
I wish there was an option for half sandwhiches; they are huge! Pasties are good too!
The menu is packed with creative sandwich options, from hot classics like the Reuben or Mexican Meatloaf to cold favorites like the Turkey Club and Spicy Italian. The sandwiches are huge, loaded with fresh ingredients, and the bread is top notch — you can tell it’s baked right. I also like the wide selection of chips and sides to round out the meal.
Service was fast and friendly even though the place was busy. The atmosphere is casual but well done — high ceilings, clean design, and a welcoming vibe that makes it easy to hang out with friends or grab a quick bite.
Tip: Lines can get long at peak lunch hours, but they move quickly and it’s worth the wait.
If you’re anywhere near the Coachella Valley, this is a must-stop spot for a seriously good deli experience.
