Tisza Bistro: Best German and Hungarian Restaurant in Healdsburg
Reviews
Thank you for an unforgettable experience! We will be back for many more meals to come!!!! Delicious & phenomenal
Everything was fantastic however that roasted beet salad was spectacular and had some really cool molecular cooking going on with those balsamic pearls
* Latkes (potato pancakes) with smoked salmon: Crisp and full of flavor.
* Smoked Debreciner sausage: Pork sausage made with sweet Hungarian paprika. Served with braised red cabbage (sweeter than regular cabbage) and potato dumplings (like a well-cooked potato but fluffy).
* Calf liver: Tasted like butter.
* Apple strudel: The best one in the US yet. A thin layer of dough filled with a generous portion of apples dusted with cinnamon.
The food was so good that it made our taste buds sing We thanked the chef and his wife, who also run the restaurant. We will be back!
Tisza Bistro was a wonderful surprise! We recently stopped in for lunch on our way back to San Francisco, and were blown away by the amazing food and friendly service. The lunch special menu was incredibly priced, offering a delicious variety of dishes.
We especially loved the salmon latke and the chicken schnitzel – both were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. And for dessert, the Black Forest mousse was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Beyond the fantastic food, the people at Tisza Bistro were incredibly warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making our lunch experience truly enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a delicious and affordable lunch spot with a charming atmosphere, Tisza Bistro is a must-try!
The food is amazing! Tonight clam chowder was a special and it was delicious! So flavorful! The burrata is a favorite of ours, the apple butter is SO good! Someone in our party ordered the burger and wow! The schnitzels are outstanding! I highly recommend!
And somehow hadn’t noticed it since it opened in town last year. My first taste of Weisswurst was decades ago when in Munich. It is a delicious sausage which has to be made the day it is served. They make it here at Tisza and it’s fabulous. I had a half order with a glass of Stadt Krems Weingut Riesling from Austria. Perfect match. Next, I had the jaeger schnitzel made with Duroc pork. I paired it with a zin-like wine from Bosnia & Herzegovina that stood up marvelously to the incredible flavor of the schnitzel. The mushroom side is perfect and the savory crunch of the schnitzel leaves my mouth watering between bites. I had plenty to eat after an entree and a half, but … Apple strudel. I ordered the Kikelet late harvest from Tikaj, Hungary with it. It did not disappoint. The strudel pastry was light as a feather and exploded in my mouth. The sweet cinnamon apple filling was not cloying and simply a delight. I chose to forgo the ice cream because I see it as an American insult to this stand alone culinary miracle from Europe.
Service was perfect. Tisza has my highest recommendation. No, I’m not on the payroll, but I wish I was. I would take my pay in schnitzel.
