I didn’t have any food, so I can’t speak to it in my rating. I’m new to Johnson City and have been looking for a place that I’d like to go to regularly. Last night, I found it. The door staff and bar staff were very nice. The bar staff moved well around each other and got drinks out to people extremely quickly and the prices are great. The only reason that I didn’t give 5 stars is because there are no seats at the bar. I would’ve stayed longer if there were.

This is not a “random anonymous comment”, this is my real name and I am a real person. I completely agree with the other people saying that the bouncers at the door are EXTREMELY rude, and probably homophobic. This sentiment is echoed by everyone else in the nightlife industry in downtown JC. Instead of becoming combative when you receive constructive criticism or a negative review, try acting on it and hiring better staff. Sometimes it helps to listen to the people that keep you in business. In particular, there is a very short man with facial hair who is very, very rude. My boyfriend and I will no longer be spending money here. The reputation of this establishment is going downhill quickly. Be willing to change.

I went to go inside to use the bathroom and order some food, well I didn’t see the line because everyone was standing separately. I walked up to the door and the door guy with the white baseball cap cussed at me to get in the back of the line. It was uncalled for and he could have said it a little bit better instead of making me feel stupid when I just had to piss and get some food. Very unnecessary behavior from a grown man.

The people that work the door are VERY rude. I have been here 2 times and both times it has been a bad experience. If you are a person of color beware that you will not be treated with any respect, if you even get in. I have seen then turn people away, making up something but everyone knows it because the door man does not like black people. Wonderland is a great place that is alot better then this place. There bathrooms are never clean and always smell horrible the bar is always dirty. Just not a good place. And as you can see by the responses to the reviews the owner does not care and would rather go against the customer instead of making corrections to his staff and bar. There is a petition that has been started for the city to look into the alligation of racial discrimination at the bar, and it has around 300 signatures already. Me and all my friends have started going to Wonderland. They have great staff and the owner actually cares about the customer.

Absolutely love this place. Friendly staff and great food. Fries were outstanding. Drinks were a good pour. Very reasonably priced and right in the heart of downtown. Good music, good vibes, just a good place overall. Will definitely be back.
