Service and atmosphere was good but the food itself was priced as much as other Thai places, if not more and their portions were half of other Thai places. Anyway, one of the items I ordered was the papaya salad which comes with shrimp and is priced like an entree, well, comes with 2 pieces of pre-cooked shrimp, I’m talking about the tiny shrimps, less than an inch.
Thai food is supposed to be aromatic and flavorful with generous portions.
Furthermore, after eating the papaya salad, me and my spouse we both threw up at home in less than an hour. It is unacceptable to serve this quality and quantity of food for charging a premium.
I do not recommend this place for the above reasons and I’m not very picky, eat at your own discretion.

Their Pad Thai chicken (extra chicken and. O peanuts !) is my all-time favorite, and I’ve worked my way through all six spice levels over the years. They offer a range from American mild, medium, and hot—then step it up with Thai mild, medium, and hot. I usually go with Thai spicy medium, which brings the perfect kick without overwhelming the dish’s flavor.
Another standout is their curry chicken with yellow sauce—rich, comforting, and a great change of pace when I want something different. And let’s not forget the crispy spring rolls—every time we’ve ordered them, they’ve hit the mark.
My wife and kids order different dishes than I do, and while I can’t speak to what they eat, I can tell you they always leave happy.
If you’re craving authentic Thai food with consistent quality and flavor, Tip Thai never misses.

Tip Thai is truly a local gem! It’s family owned and the food always comes out so delicious and fresh! I’m absolutely convinced they have the best chicken wings in Richmond. The drunken noodles and curries are also amazing – you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Great place! From the first steps felt very neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered Drunken noodles with pork very tasty. Also had Sathay Chicken very tender and delicious. Overall the food was prepared with decent attention to details. Definitely will come back again!

The Tip appetizer sampler was beautifully arranged and equally as tasty. We enjoyed the accompanying dipping sauces too. All of the apps were good but the chicken satay skewers were perfectly marinated and cooked, making it my favorite. I also loved the cream cheese rangoons.
I cannot get enough of their Tom Yum Goong soup (shrimp and mushrooms). It’s bright and full of lemongrass and lime flavors; definitely on the acidic/sour side which I love! I even took some to go after dining in! It was just as tasty for lunch the next day.
For dessert, we shared their house made coconut ice cream w jackfruit and mango sauce. It was light, bright, and refreshing like all of their dishes!

We were the only people in the restaurant. They were playing nice music but it was very strange that the person behind the counter was watching a movie on their iphone at full volume…a lot of intense fight scenes with swords…kind of threw off the vibe..
