This place serves some of the best tacos I have ever eaten. Trust me when I tell you, I have eaten more than my fair share of tacos. If you’re feeling adventurous, I highly recommend the octopus taco…no joke. Tinker Taco is a hidden gem. It’s a must for any day trip in Woodstock.

Bought 2 micheladas and them were undrinkable. Bartender takes forever to serve, was Sent to a different bar area to ask for a drink. Terrible customer service.

The place is right in front of a stream and it is beautiful. Unfortunately, the restaurant and the tacos quality don’t live up to the expectations. Expensive tacos with zero cooking. More like an ensemble of warmed up already cooked ingredients. The fish tacos, absolute disaster and nothing to do with the “crispy” description you read in the menu. Chicken, Pastor and Lengua, all really dull, watery, missing that freshness tingle against the crunchy meat that you would expect from a good taco. The tortillas are not home made and not warm enough. None of the good stuff is there. This could have been an excellent taco place but, other than the fantastic river setting and the really good margaritas… the food needs a lot of work to compete with all other places in town.

5/10 there are too many other local places nearby that have better food and better prices. $6.50 for tacos that don’t have much to them is not worth it. If the tacos were overflowing, maybe then $6 tacos you can get away with. It’s a cool location, but hard sell to come back. And not the quickest service for an empty place.

Never got my food no one checked up or anything. Bartender was nice let us have a drink on the house. But I still waited 45 minutes for food that was never coming. No one told us there was an issue with the order

I Came Here in 2015 when the owner was behind the kitchen and the quality was fantastic. Came here today and the tortilla was super try. If the tacos are made by hand and fresh, how is it that they feel like they are leftover from the day before? If this is truly a place dedicated to making great tacos, then my recommendation is that any good taco begins with a fresh warm tortilla. The tortillas here are stale and cold. When the owner was behind the kitchen many years ago, this was not the case. Also, the Clamato‘s are simply watered down beer. If this place truly specializes in Mexican cuisine, it might do them justice to go to Mexico for one week and try what a real Clamato and taco taste like.

Tacos were good. Ordering was not smooth. I had to repeat everything multiple times and the employee could not get it right due to distractions. I tried in Spanish and English. We were charged for a drink they didn’t have in the case for a higher amount and they forgot a taco all together. You are on your own testing to figure out which is which. Telling them the issues just got us a cold response and a second copy of our receipt.

I have been living in Woodstock for a few years. Hadn’t been back to tinker taco since the pandemic sporadically in between so I was wondering how the situation improved with the new bar area. Maybe this was my fifth time ever. The food is so fresh and good and the area is great with the stream and outdoor tables. The whole place is open to the elements. This makes it a great place for big groups, families, dog lovers, etc. The only way to order is counter style and the bring the food out to your number. The bar doesn’t have the best options in my opinion, no IPAs. It was nice but I’m not gonna go back that often to pay full prices for no service and to eat at picnic tables. It’s good for every so often.

this one’s tough. i love the vibe of the restaurant. the location is cute, and the drinks are fun. but the food is bland and overpriced. the refried beans were watery and needed a lot more salt & seasoning. the tacos were expensive, yet the portions were meager and tasted like nothing (please tell me how chorizo could possibly taste like nothing). the shishito peppers were actually tasty, but one pretty okay side won’t save an otherwise unremarkable meal. not to mention, some of the silverware was just filthy.

A little expensive but amazing tacos. Lots of flavor. Don’t be afraid to get more than one because they’re a bit small. I love the outdoor seating they have it gives you that Woodstock feel. Also they have a cute stream that you can view right outside the business.
