Chef Tilak Gurung is bringing authentic Indian cuisine to the Menlo Park Tilak’s decades long career has spanned a delectable saga across many countries. Tilak loved to cook as a teenager, and opened his first restaurant in his native Nepal before sojourning to work at an Indian restaurant in Korea. Chef Tilak then journeyed over to the States, where he honed his craft, capping his culinary journey off with stints at tech giants Apple and Dropbox. While at Dropbox, Tilak cooked for many celebrities including Justin Timberlake (musician), Kanye West (presidential nominee), Condoleeza Rice (former Secretary of State), Lee Hsien Loong (the prime minister of Singapore), and Jon Ying. And today, he works to bring together everything he’s learned

But if you are look for the indian spice, you might need to reconsider or you need to ask them to make it extra spicy as the spice level is adjusted and the curries aren’t spicy at all. But the taste is there, only spice is missing for someone looking for authentic indian food. The appetizers are pretty good. The ambiance is okayish.

Had a great meal here – ordered the vegetable samosas and the chicken biriyani and both were excellent. I appreciated on the biriyani they asked for spice level- my parents don’t handle spice well so look forward to taking them sometime so they can enjoy too. The service was attentive and the portions were a great value; would eat here again or order takeout (I sat near the front and they seemed to have an efficient system for takeaways).

Great traditional Indian in downtown Menlo Park! We really liked the Orka Masala and Chickpea Saag. Dishes were generous in size, served hot and with the right spice. The Butter Chicken was solid too. Very clean atmosphere in a recently remodeled space.
