Walked by this place all the time and never thought to try Indian food in general. However, I came here soon after I tried Indian food for the first time a few months ago.

I was sort of thrown aback by how small the dining room is compared to other restaurants up and down that same street, which tend to go way deeper into the restaurant. Regardless of space, I was ready to enjoy the food!

I had to start off with a mango lassi, as is customary anytime I eat at an Indian establishment. It was really tasty, refreshing, and worth the price. I say this in appreciation of how the restaurant doesn’t stuff the drink full of ice so you’re getting a fraction of your actual beverage, it was ALL lassi.

I went with a classic, butter chicken. It was juicy and flavorful. The sauce was lovely to pour all over my rice. My wife ordered the goat curry and she was enamored. The goat was the least bit gamey and extremely tender.

I was excited that this place was so delicious however, I am kicking myself knowing I could have walked in plenty of times. I will continue to visit whenever I am craving lassi, naan, and hopefully a new favorite from their menu!

Solid Indian staples served by kind staffers. May be the best Indian food in JP?

This is my favorite (go-to) Indian food restaurant in Boston! I have a very delicate palate & prefer authentic & real food- and the food gives authentic Indian! I love that they have fish options , mainly why we chose this this spot -I had the Fish(haddock) Masala, my partner had the Fish( haddock) mango, both were equally delicious .
In a world of fast & fake food, this spot is ! The food is delicious, the service was lovely, the atmosphere is positive and there’s on street parking ! I highly recommend – esp for vegan /vegetarians

We have been fans of Tikki for several years now. We’ve never been disappointed! The menu is diverse and delicious, and the kitchen always gets the spice level just right for us. The service is attentive, and the atmosphere is calm and friendly. Recently we tried the Tikki Masala app for take-out, and it was great, too. Thanks to Mr Sharma and his lovely staff!

The food here was very flavorful, the presentation was great and the chicken was cooked perfectly juicy and tender. The two main criticisms I have are that I ordered my meal medium spicy and my girlfriend ordered hers full spicy and what I got was not remotely spicy and hers was mildly spicy. I think the staff is used to people rejecting their food for being too spicy so if you like it hot you may need to really push the staff to make it hot for you. The other criticism I have was the garlic Naan was pretty sad. No oil or butter of any kind on it, with a few scant pieces of garlic that did not really come through at all. Other than those two minor things the experience was great and definitely worth going out for.

This was the hands-down worst restaurant meal of my life; the food was, quite literally, inedible.

The samosas came sitting in a puddle of about half a cup of cold, sloshing orange cooking oil.

The naan was burned black — to the extent where, when I opened the foil, all I could smell was burnt food.

The tikka masala sauce was the consistency of water, and — to top off the single worst meal I’ve ever ordered — they only sent about a teaspoon of each chutney; the little plastic containers were 3/4 empty.

Possibly the deplorable preparation had to do with the fact that I ordered it for delivery? I can’t imagine that any restaurant would serve up half a cup of cold cooking oil, or burnt black naan, or teaspoon-sized servings of chutney, to people dining in person. Disgraceful.

Stopped for dinner at Tikki Masala my way home from a visit in Jamaica Plain – it was great. Outstanding Indian cuisine and very friendly service! Started with samosas – very good – and followed up with two entrees – chicken mango and chicken korma; both excellent. Also had naan – so good .
Tikki Masala has my strongest recommendation – I will definitely return!!

Over from Uk where we have high end Indian food so gave this place a go and food was terrible and expensive. The Chicken Tikka which is always breast meat & not poor quality dry thigh offcuts as served here. It was also reheated and not fresh. It also looked oven cooked and doubt it had been anywhere near a tandoor clay oven. Straight in the bin. Appalling!

Delicious Indian food! Great cuts of meat! We had the Lamb Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Mutter Paneer, Chicken Coconut, and Ras Malay. They were all great, but the Lamb Rogan Josh was everyone’s favorite.
