The decor is very beautiful, the atmosphere is lively and uplifting, and the food is delicious and well-priced! The staff are so kind & make you feel welcomed and well taken care of.
Definitely recommend coming here!
Oh, it’s also next door to an Indian grocery store, so you can do some grocery shopping after you leave. Very convenient!
If you’re looking for an authentic Indian restaurant in Lakeway, this spot is definitely worth checking out. We absolutely loved every dish…the chicken masala, prawn curry, lamb vindaloo, and of course, the chai and mango lassi were all bursting with rich, traditional flavors. You can really taste the love and authenticity in every bite.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive …they make you feel right at home. Until they get their liquor license, i think BYOB is allowed but ensure to confirm
, which makes it even more fun if you want to pair your favorite wine or beer with your meal.
Lakeway has been needing more global dining options like this, and The Tikka House is definitely a place I’ll be recommending to friends, family, and clients looking to explore authentic Indian cuisine close to home.

Since this was our first time trying out this place Shekhar suggested us to try their lamb chops and fish fry in appetizers. He suggested us to try their chefs speciality that wasn’t on menu in main course. It was another lamb chop curry but that was something I never had before. It was rich creamy and had smoked tandoor flavor.
I really recommend you try this dish next time you visit and lucky if Shekhar is there.
We also tried tawa paneer, indo chienese appetizers, garlic naan. I want to mention the naan was outstanding. It was thin, crisp and, flavorful that very well complemented our curries.
Each dish tried was distinct in flavor, texturel and well cooked to match our spice level.
Last was the delicious dessert Gulab Jamun Rabdi!!! I just can express the taste of rabadi was exceptionally balanced. It was too sweet that was the best part and well complimented the Gulab Jamun.
The service was quick and neat. We experienced a welcoming feel and relaxing time over the table enjoying good food. I definitely recommend trying out this location whenever in Austin.
Kudos to Shekhar Dhanashree and Shiva for their efforts
The Butter Chicken was just as impressive rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The sauce paired perfectly with their soft, buttery naan.
The service was friendly and quick, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you love authentic Indian flavors, Don’t forget to visit Tikka House are absolute must-tries!
We ordered the Murgh Tikka and the dark meat Tandoori chicken, and both were excellent. The tandoori had that beautiful roasted crust you hope for from the tandoor — smoky, slightly charred, and full of flavor. The murgh tikka was tender and well seasoned without being heavy.
The bhendi (okra) was a standout surprise. Perfectly cooked with great texture and spice. The saag paneer was rich and comforting — the kind of dish that makes you keep going back for one more bite.
And the naan… buttery, pillowy soft, and clearly fresh out of the oven.
We ordered everything medium spice, which turned out to be the sweet spot. Enough heat to wake up the flavors without overwhelming the dish.
The best compliment I can give: we nearly cleaned every plate.
Really loved the okra app (kurkuri bindi) and then we started by trying the lamb tikka, the goat curry, and the palak paneer. All super delicious. Had to send the hubs back to pick up more naan and paratha the next night for our leftovers. Yum!!
I’m not sure how this happened—perhaps the cook was in a rush and forgot to add the lamb pieces. I called the restaurant, and they offered to replace the meal if I brought it back, but since we live in Bee Cave (about 15 minutes away), they suggested I could come back another time and they would provide the correct mixed grill.
We’re not asking for a free meal or anything like that—it just feels unusual for a restaurant with such a strong reputation to make this kind of mistake.
Plus the presentation could be better, looks messy and not appetizing
