The egg rolls were great but the rice was absolutely horrible. It was dry, scorched and bland. There was absolutely no seasoning to it at all. (Which makes me think some of the reviews on TikTok are NOT accurate).
The food is very overpriced at $50 for our meal and to have just thrown it away well, not what I expected. I unfortunately would not refer anyone here based off my experience. Sorry.
The decor was interesting though ♀️
” spicy ” to mine must of missed that cause there was just 5 slices of jalapeño sitting there? Chicken was crunchy?
Rangoons arrived early so we could start on those. Their filing was decent but nothing amazing. The edges of the Rangoon were a little extra cooked so had a little bit of a burnt taste. (I enjoy Rangoons so I would likely order again but wouldn’t brag on them).
Wife and I both got the Nacho base for our protein (Chicken for her, Combo for me). There isn’t all that much going on with the base. 6 small pieces of onion, 4 pieces of jalapeno, cheese and cilantro seasoned from a distance. Heaps of sauce on top of the wonton chips, the chips were yummy, the sauce was good, just lots of it. Protein was enjoyed.
Neither of us could finish our plate. I am glad for the dine in packaging being the same as take out so we can just close the lids and go. I’ll likely finish both portions as my wife wasn’t floored.
We discussed a future visit and a desire to try a different base in the future.
We ordered the garlic beef fried rice and the chicken Yaki Udon, and both hit the spot in different ways.
The garlic beef fried rice was packed with that signature slow-roasted garlic butter sauce, tender beef pieces, egg, peas, and carrots. The garlic flavor was prominent (in the best way—if you love garlic, this is for you), and the rice had great texture without being greasy. The beef was flavorful and well-seasoned, making it hearty and addictive. Portions are huge, so we had plenty left over.
The chicken Yaki Udon was another winner: thick, chewy udon noodles stir-fried with fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and their bold Tiger Noodle Sauce. Everything came together with nice umami and a touch of sweetness, and the beef was juicy and not overcooked. It felt like a comforting, elevated noodle dish with good balance.
Service was quick and friendly (counter-style but efficient), and the food came out hot and fresh. If you’re in the Wichita area and craving big, flavorful Japanese stir-fry or fried rice, Tiger Rice is worth checking out. We’ll definitely be back.
5/5 stars—highly recommend for garlic lovers and noodle fans!
