I haven’t quite been to a place like Tiger Daddy before! Their style of fast casual hot pot soups is pretty unique, and I enjoyed customizing my own bowl with beef and spam. They had a ton of seafood options to pick from as well, and broths for every spice level. Their sushi and tuna tartare were very fresh too! Having the screens to order from is a nice touch to make sure you can order exactly what you like.

Somebody please correct their address. They are located on Whitney Ave next to BBQ chicken and Subway sandwich but Google Map led me to a completely different place. Food was okay. Surprisingly I was full after eating their small soup bowl. Dragon roll was okay. In general, the food was okay and a little pricy for what you get but you don’t pay tips so that kinda makes the whole quality reasonable.

This is an excellent new place in New Haven and one I highly recommend. I’m not kidding, it might be some of the best, most authentic Chinese food in the city. Do the build your own bowl, try the pork broth, throw in a meat and some veggies and you’ve got an awesome meal for a reasonable price.

Be careful: Snackpass users, if you mistakenly place an order and want to cancel it, the cancellation is not guaranteed. What happened to us is that after placing the order we immediately called the restaurant to cancel it. What we were told is “It’s my first day here so I don’t know how to cancel it. I’m very busy now I don’t have time to handle it for you”. Well, we saw her was working in the restaurant a month ago, so it’s hard not to believe that’s their trick to force you keep the order you want to cancel.

It was okay the malatang. The portion is a little small. Tastes more like a regular hotpot than malatang

Cashiers are always nice and friendly the food is great traditional chinese food, id recommend them to CT tourists because the sushi option is a great addition, you get the best Traditional chinese food and japanese food so it’s a great combination. Sometimes the cashier speaks mostly mandarin But there’s usually someone with more english when I struggle with communicating. I’m OK with it and grateful for the Convenience of the food also because They’re quick but food still comes out great. And I get to practice my mandarin with the mandarin speaking cashier. Such a nice guy. I like the diversity of the restaurant because I get to use another language and communicate with new and different people. It’s a doubly pleasant experience to learn something new and enjoy good food. They definitely accommodate.
