Reviews
The noodles were springy and full of flavor, and the braised dishes were rich but not greasy. You can really tell the food is freshly made.
Everything came out fast, and the staff was super nice. A solid go-to when you want something comforting and delicious.
O really liked the interior & foods. Their oolong tea was refreshing as well. It was cool to know robots made our meals. The food were good . I would definitely recommend the green bean egg plate, rice with pork, tomato & egg, orange chicken, kungpao, wonton, dumplings, steamed pork buns , mapo tofu * tasted mild * , their beef hunan spicy beef , cabbage, tiga cola chicken, xiao long baos, chiwmein , & the brussel sprout. The service was awesome as each person explained the menu so kindly & let us try samples. Each dish is less than $6 or $7 which was affordable despite eating in Irvine. Loved this chinese fast restaurant
We tried a variety of mini bowls, which are perfect for my family with kids. We can order a little of every dishes and they come with lid that you can just cap it and bring home the leftovers.
The staff is still getting into the flow since they just opened, but everyone was friendly and eager to help. Try get there early to avoid the long lines.
If you’re in Irvine, definitely give Tigawok a try! It’s right next to Omomo, Trader Joe’s on Culver & Walnut. Excited to go back and try more dishes!
Prices are amazing, ranging from only $1.99-$6.99, which makes it easy to try a variety of dishes. We ordered several and shared:
* Garlic eggplant & green beans (so flavorful, with a perfect mix of crunch and tenderness)
* Tiga wagyu beef curry (rich and comforting)
* Dry-pot Brussels sprouts (perfectly spiced with a little kick)
* Pepper kurobuta pork (little spicy and savory)
* Orange peel chicken (not overly sweet like Panda Express–balanced and delicious)
For my base, I had the chow mein, and I actually like it more than Panda Express–the noodles weren’t greasy and came with lots of fresh, crunchy veggies. My parents couldn’t stop raving about the soup dumplings (xiao long bao). We also loved the unique, well-designed food containers, and the oolong tea was the perfect pairing.
Overall, Tigawok is a gem–delicious, affordable, and such a cool concept. Definitely worth checking out!
Tigawok is not a traditional Chinese takeout spot with preset combo numbers. Instead, you build your meal a la carte, choosing individual dishes and your base, so you are paying for exactly what you want. Once that clicks, the value becomes very clear. You can try multiple dishes, customize your plate, and skip filler items you do not want. For example, if you are on a keto diet, you can easily avoid rice or noodles.
One of the photos shows how busy the restaurant gets, and that is not an accident. People are drawn to places that are consistently active, and Tigawok clearly has a strong following. Despite the crowds, the operation runs efficiently and the line moves quickly.
The way the food is served is also worth explaining. Dishes come out in individual mini bowls, which at first glance might give the impression that portions are small. They are not. Another photo shows everything transferred onto a plate, and it becomes obvious how much food you actually get. The “mini bowls” approach is about customization and presentation, not portion size, and the total volume is very generous.
The space itself is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. It feels like a step up from traditional takeout without the cost or time commitment of a sit down restaurant. Service has been consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, patient, and efficient, and they do a great job walking first timers through the menu.
What really stands out is the quality. Even something as simple as the steamed white rice is noticeably well done. The grains are high quality and carefully cooked, not an afterthought. Many dishes are prepared using robotic woks, which deliver that unmistakable wok hei flavor you usually only get from very experienced chefs, but with impressive consistency.
Standout dishes include the Tiga Cola Chicken, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory with real depth, their take on Orange Peel Chicken, far more flavorful than the standard fast food version, and the curry with white rice on the side, rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying.
Pricing is very reasonable given the quality and freshness of the ingredients. It sits in a great middle ground. A clear step up from standard takeout, less expensive than sit down dining, and fully competitive with higher end fast casual in terms of execution.
If you care about good ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and the ability to customize your meal without sacrificing flavor or value, Tigawok is absolutely worth a visit.
The Tigawok menu is fairly basic but when you see the dishes served in front of you, it’s hard not to want to try everything. If you’re dining in, Tigawok recommends the following 4-step process:
1 – Take your tray
2 – Choose a staple
3 – Choose your mini bowls
4 – Pay for your order
Between our family of three, we ordered the Braised Pork & Wagyu Beef Rice Bowl and Chow Mein as our staples. Our mini bowls included the Steamed Soup Dumplings, Wagyu Mapo Tofu, Hunan Spicy Beef, Potato Shreds with Bean Sprouts, and Pepper Kurobuta Pork. By far, my favorites were the Wagyu Rice Bowl (expect a hint of sweetness), the Mapo Tofu and Kurobuta Pork. Best of all the staples and mini bowls are so affordable priced! Their website mentions an “ever-evolving menu”, so I can’t wait to visit again to try something new.
There was a short line at the entrance, but it moved quickly. Ordering was simple and smooth — select, pay, sit, and eat — no extra waiting time since everything is freshly prepared and ready to serve.
The restaurant offers plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. If you prefer takeout, they even provide a self-serve station with eco-friendly boxes, utensils, and bags. Such a thoughtful and considerate setup from the owner!
Now, about the food — absolutely delicious! As a Chinese person, I have to say the flavors are impressively authentic. I honestly didn’t expect a QSR (quick service restaurant) – with food powered by cooking robots, to deliver such quality and taste!!!
Can’t wait to see more of their locations opening across North America!
