We were passing through the area and we were hungry. We came to this place. It was a very bad decision. The tacos and empanadas had very little meat. The burrito had mayonnaise instead of cream. and there is no physical menu, she tells you the menu, confusing to decide what to order and without seeing prices, We only ordered 4 tacos, they gave us 8, an order of empanadas, 1 burrito and two guallaba waters
The worst thing was that for three people we paid $70. Honestly, it wasn’t worth it because the food wasn’t good.

5/5 – A Hidden Gem of Authentic Mexican Flavor!
Tienda La Chiquita of Kentucky LLC is hands down one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve experienced outside of Mexico. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of freshly made tortillas, sizzling meats, and homemade sauces that instantly make your mouth water.
What sets this place apart is the attention to tradition. The tortillas are made by hand, fresh daily, and it makes all the difference—they’re soft, warm, and packed with that unmistakable homemade flavor. Every dish here tastes like it was made in an abuelita’s kitchen.
I tried the tacos al pastor and tamales, and both were outstanding. The pastor was perfectly seasoned, with just the right mix of spice and sweetness, and the tamales were moist, flavorful, and wrapped in love. Even the beans, rice, and salsas taste like they came straight from a small pueblo kitchen.
Beyond the food, the staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like you’re visiting family. They also have a small tienda section with hard-to-find Mexican products—bonus points for that!
If you’re looking for real Mexican food made with heart, skip the chains and come to Tienda La Chiquita. This place is the real deal.

I use them to send money to Mexico and other South Am countries. The woman tells you she has other fees on your name before she even looks you up. Her receipts aren’t legitimate because she doesn’t own the lease on the place. I also heard their son uses this as a front for random rentals he ends up losing…. Look into that if your rent goes up $700. The bugs in the front candy and the expiration dates….when you walk in you’re GOGGLED by dudes buying beer at lunch time. And I’m not exaggerating. Go check it out if you are into all theee kinds of things! Yay!

I ordered my food to go, started to eat my tamale and found a staple in it.
My wife called the store slash restaurant and told them and they hung up the phone.
Food was mediocre and will never go back again.
Very very disappointing and furious for the lack of concern. Eat with caution!!!!!!

Want authentic Mexican food? This place delivers! This is a grocery and diner all in one. My lunch was made from scratch, from the tortillas to the guacalmole !
Will return!

I placed an order for 4 meals. 3 of them were wrong and one of them had a staple in it. I understand the language barrier and getting orders wrong, but staples in the food? How on earth can that even happen ?? So I called the store to let them know what happened and she didn’t understand me, mumbled a few word and hung up on me. Again…language barrier …but hang up on the customer??? I wasnt even speaking in an angry voice.. I was very nice and simply informing them. For $48, that’s not right.
