Tida Thai Cuisine was my very first dive into Thai food, and honestly… I think I picked a pretty dramatic way to start . I ordered the Spicy Mango Chicken, and from the first bite my mouth lit up like it had just signed up for a chili‑pepper boot camp. Lips tingling, tongue buzzing, eyes widening — the whole experience. And yet… it was delicious. Sweet mango, fresh chili garlic, bell pepper, onion — all stir‑fried into a perfect little flavor explosion.

The restaurant itself was spotless and cozy, the kind of place where you instantly feel like you made a good decision. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, checking in just enough without hovering. It wasn’t busy (Wednesday night calm), but the steady stream of DoorDash pickups told me this place has a loyal fan club .

For a first‑time Thai adventure, this was a total win. Great food, great service, and just enough heat to make me feel alive without needing medical attention .

Lunch special is very reasonably priced. I ordered the green curry with chicken and a spring roll on the side. Very delicious, and Kay (my server) was attentive and kind. Curry was flavorful, and they did not skimp on the protein either. Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in for lunch. The restaurant felt quite worn, and despite being the only guest, service moved slowly. Presentation of the dishes was underwhelming. That said, the flavors were strong and well-balanced, and the food itself was genuinely enjoyable. Overall, not impressive on ambience or service, but good enough in taste that I would return.

Tida Thai is a good place to eat lighter food on Granby St. Like a lot of American Thai places, this does not have the most authentic food. What they do serve is tasty and with generous portions.

Quality of food has gone down so much. Last time ordering from here. Glass noodles are flavorless- literally not in any sauce. This has happened my last 3 times ordering and every time it gets less and less. No flavor. And now super dry chicken 🙁 very disappointing

1. Tom ka soup is nasty. Either it’s not fresh or it’s something else. It has unusual SOURNESS with a reddish color. When I returned the store the server told me some place in Thai make it sour and the red is the soup mixed with chili oil. Well, I know it can have tanginess from lime or lemongrass but this was not that kind of sour. And I know chili oil floats on top, it doesn’t turn the whole soup red. That explanation made no sense.

2. If you want utensils you have to ASK the server during night time takeout. What kind of unnecessary rule is that you made up to give customers inconvenience? Or blame the inconvenience to customer that I didn’t know their rule? No service whatsoever.

On top of that the restaurant is outdated and seems short staffed with only one server running around during a busy dinner hour. Out of courtesy, I ordered takeout but the overall experience left me disappointed. As a flight attendant, I’ve traveled widely and tried Thai food in many places, and sadly, this was one of the least satisfying experiences.

I’m leaving 2 stars because I know running a family restaurant is difficult, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for poor food quality, confusing policies and lack of basic service.

Holidays have always been hard for me. I lost my sight when I was 19, right around this time of year. This was my first holiday without my mother, who passed away in February, and after a bitter separation and divorce that began last holiday season, I was desperately hoping for something to lift my spirits. I wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday surrounded by family at Tida Thai, a place I once loved. We came in good faith, bringing over $1,000 worth of business in one night, and yet the experience was a disaster from start to finish. Their infrastructure was completely inadequate—one waiter for 25 people. Drinks and food were delayed constantly. One of my cousins, who had traveled out of town, didn’t get their food until the very end, right when we were about to cut the cake. But the worst part came at the end. When we tried to pay, they refused to split the check more than five ways. We tried to work it out with the waiter, but then the owner’s daughter stormed out, accusing us of not trying to pay, and even threatened to call the police—all in front of my family, my children, my loved ones. A night meant to celebrate a milestone ended in humiliation, frustration, and heartbreak. Tida Thai was once a place of happiness for me. Now it is just another loss added to an already painful holiday season. I will never return. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Tida Thai offers wonderful hospitality and delicious food.

We were visiting Virginia Beach and saw this Thai restaurant located near our hotel in the Virginia Beach Town Center. We stopped by to place an order for take out as they were about to close. This quaint restaurant was dimly lit, creating an intimate ambiance.

We ordered Beef Pad See Ew and Combination Fried Rice. I thought the fried rice was good. The pad see ew, however, was just okay. The flat noodles were a little overcooked for my preference and the taste was slightly sweeter than I expected.

I did appreciate them being open, as we were really craving some Thai food. The lady who helped us was very nice, as was an older woman (maybe the owner’s mother?) who greeted us with her warm smile.

One of the top 5 Thai restaurants in my life out of ~100. Great noodles, great flavor, actually spicy when you ask for it. Large portions. Try the pad see ew. Very vegetarian friendly, just make sure to check if a dish has oyster sauce and ask for it to be omitted.

Still serving some delicious food with friendly service! Enjoyed the Chicken Lettuce Wraps with minced chicken with carrot, mushroom, water chestnuts topped with scallion. Also the Thai Dumplings with marinated shrimp and minced chicken wrap with wonton skin steamed served with chef’s special soy sauce!!! And lastly, the PAD THAI
– stir-fried thin rice noodle with bean spout, scallion, peanut and egg.

RECOMMENDED!!
