My friend and I came for dinner here and we loved it! Ashley took really good care of us and gave us some great recommendations.
We started off with some tea and alligator bites, which I couldn’t get enough of. The gator came out hot and had a good, savory flavor.
We split two entrees: The Seafood Platter and the Redfish Tacos (both of which came with a salad). The fish and shrimp tasted fresh and the hushpuppies were some of the best I’ve had!.
For dessert, we got the cheesecake which was a great way to end the nice! It wasn’t overly sweet either, and so I didn’t feel stuffed by the end.
The atmosphere made me feel like I was dropped into Galveston or Louisiana. The walls were plastered with all sorts of Country and Rock musicians which my friend and I had fun naming off. There was even live music too, which was the cherry on top!
100% would come back again! Thinking about getting the huge bucket of crawfish next time.

I stumbled across this restaurant on 11/30/25 while shopping at the Central Market. Upon walking in, I noticed it was packed with a lot of people but not overwhelmingly bad. The hostess told me it would be a 20 minute wait to get a booth, so I chose to sit at the bar. I met Eli who was very pleasant and helpful with my menu selection.
I ordered the salmon platter which included Mexican rice and veggies. It also came with a side salad which was a nice bonus. Now because of my allergies, I had to try something simple and uncomplicated and this was the best choice for me.
My food came to me luke warm which I was not happy with, my salmon was seasoned well but mildly dry and slightly overcooked. The Mexican rice also was somewhat tasty but it had too much salt. I also tried the gumbo with chicken and sausage and again I was disappointed because it didn’t taste like a good traditional gumbo. This gumbo fell severely short of a good balance of seasoning and flavor. It had an awful burnt after taste to it and it was thin and broth like, instead of a having a silky roux texture. This gumbo variation had ” shredded” chicken it. In all the places I’ve visited across the country, I’ve never eaten a gumbo with shredded chicken before. Never. So this was strange to see. See the picture I posted.
For my dessert, I opted to try the Bourbon bread pudding. It was absolutely delicious.
Would I eat at this restaurant again? Yes I probably would, because the atmosphere was lively and full of good energy, the meal was decent and the dessert was really good, but the chefs need to drastically improve on that gumbo soup. C-

We came for a very late dinner on friday night(hour and half before closing) we were not rushed to eat and leave. Steph G. is an Awesome waitress!! She’s knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. My wife had the top shelf margarita and i had the bomb pop margarita. As for the food, it was delicious and hot! I ordered the 5 piece fried fish and jumbo shrimp basket. My wife ordered the seafood enchiladas. We also had the crawfish queso as an appetizer. We highly recommend Tia Juanitas and Steph G as .

Absolutely amazing place for lunch or dinner. I’ve been 3 times with family and I was absolutely blown away every time. I’ve stuck with the Boudin Quesadillas every time I’ve been and they were AMAZING. Their spicy guacamole was great, and their chips are surprisingly great ( I don’t even know what makes them different lol). Everything we’ve ordered over all has been a HIT. I will say that it’s packed most of the time just the inside is absolutely massive so the wait is usually very short.

Definitely 10000% recommend if you’re in the area.

Not your average garage Hey Jack
Wait was pretty long, but once we got a table… (( Bailey )) our waitress killed it and stayed on top of drinks and helpful.
Food was good.
Restaurant was Very Loud at the time, Have multiple tvs sounds on, and on top of that a Live Band was trying to play.
Definitely not like the other two Tia Juanitas Camps ive been too. Would go again but never when it’s that loud, Food was good and waitress did excellent job.
Bathrooms were not very clean either.

Parking is quite small and minimal on that day, unless you park in front of one of the other businesses.

We had a good experience at Tia Juanita’s overall. I ordered the Texas redfish and really enjoyed it, the fish was flavorful and the sauce paired with it very well, I however did not get my side salad. My fiancé had the fried shrimp and fish basket, he thought it was okay, but not anything crazy. I also ordered a Moscow mule just to try it, and it was mostly soda and syrup, but it was still fine. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very busy and loud, very packed. It didn’t really bother us, but it might be something to note for others. We waited about 20 minutes for a table for two, which wasn’t a big issue. Our server, Kaitlynn, was very sweet and bubbly, and despite how busy it was, she did a great job juggling her tables and making sure we were taken care of.

This is a fantastic restaurant with an extensive menu featuring a variety of delicious food and drinks. While their vegan options are limited to only veggie fajitas, I still strongly recommend visiting this place for its quality and atmosphere. Additionally, I would enjoy sitting at the bar, which has a warm and inviting ambiance that makes for a relaxing experience with friends or family!

We got the red fish tacos, and the crawfish po boy as our entrées. For an appetizer, we got a Boudin balls and the crabcakes. Everything was very good. Boudin was not my favorite but I am a snob when it comes to that lol. But my husband enjoyed it a lot. The crab cakes were fresh so very flavorful. Also the portion sizes were very big! Will be coming back here!
