Wanting to present a place with purpose, serving food and drink that’s fresh, picked up directly from the local farm, and prepared in front of the customer, the idea was born. Everything would be sourced local with the menu highlighting the Illinois farmer and the drinks sourced Midwest.
The building itself needed to have meaning. Something that served its community for decades, something with good bones. For our purpose was to be members of the community, be woven into its fabric, presenting quality and uniqueness in a familiar, comfortable atmosphere. We found 13 Dozen Doughnuts in Peru, directly across from Westclox, which was ready for a makeover. After a year of repurposing, reusing as much as we could the building was ready.

Farm to table food was excellent! Service was top notch and the place was clean. We had our two small kids with us and they liked their grilled cheese and potato crisps. I had the burger and husband had birria tacos. Everyone ate every bite. Forgot to take pictures of all the plates beforehand. I got one of the burger and salad about half way through. Definitely recommend and will return if we get back to the area.

Dropped in for a biz meeting from Tampa Florida. Place is amazing. The crab cakes were next level and the burger was amazing. Everything is house made and labeled from its local source. Great place.

What a great find on our way to Chicago! The attention to carefully curating local food and drinks was evident that a few people really care. Local beef, chicken, vegetables and even
Liquor was had local options. The menu was incredibly contemporary celebrating flavors from around the world. Our Chicken sandwich was crispy to the point you could hear crunch in your head and full of flavor. The salad was fresh and beautifully presented with a variety of colors and textures. You do not want to miss this place.

We stopped by based on a friend’s recommendation and were absolutely blown away. The atmosphere is cozy yet stylish, perfectly blending modern vibes with that classic small-town hospitality. The service was top-notch; our server was attentive, knew the menu inside and out, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Its downtown location is super convenient and easy to find. The food was the highlight of the night—everything was prepared to perfection. If you’re looking for great value for your money and a fantastic dining experience, this is the place to be!

Five stars isn’t enough!!! We were so impressed that we ate here two days in a row while in the area. The focus on fresh, farm-to-table and real ingredients shines through every dish. Kudos to the chef and the wonderful staff for an amazing experience. Can’t recommend it more. I wish we had more places like Thyme Craft Kitchen everywhere!!

This place doesn’t lie when they say farm to table. Each menu item has the name of the place from where it was sourced. Everything we ordered was freshly made and speed of food was quick. Our server ensured that we got a good experience. Presentation of food was excellent. It was quite busy when we walked in on a Friday evening.
We ordered the following
Muhammura 8/10
Tomato bisque soup 8.5/10
Crab cakes 7/10
Beet salad 8/10
We haven’t tried but looks like they’re known for crispy pork belly. They also have a collection of wine and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Very nice place, the atmosphere was great I live the tall tables. All the staff was really nice. They’re coming doing a good job. Some weird things though, the avocado in the pazole was likely guacamole from a bag and not a whole lot of dicernable lobster in the lobster pasta but both dishes tasted great despite this. I also loved the yellow curry.

This place is awesome, we came with friends to celebrate a birthday. Nikki was our waitress, super knowledgeable and a great personality. They have amazing celiac friendly food, we do not feel like we had to worry about the food that we got and they had many options for whose who have Celiac. An amazing farm to table restaurant!

Everything about this was great. Unique cocktails made with unique spirits. Midwestern beer and wine. All locally sourced farm-to-table fare. One of the few places that claims to be farm to table and actually is.
Service was top tier and genuine. If there was a Peru Michelin Guide, this place would be Bib Gourmand at the very least.
Update 5/2025:
Continue to return from nearly 2 hours away to visit this restaurant. I dragged my mom and her boyfriend along with my future in-laws this time. Everyone enjoyed. Truly worth the trek. Always warm and welcoming and the food is spectacular! Thanks for being consistent and making a good impression on my family!
