I wanted to love this place. Our daughter and son-in-law were very excited to have us try it. I ordered the “Flavor of the Month, Frito Bandito” tavern style (thin crust.) I didn’t receive a pizza like the one they advertised. It was a “Frito” pie but check out my photo to see how many Fritos were actually on my pie. My son-in-law said I could always buy a bag of Fritos and add more but my gosh, I just paid $24 for a pizza and now I have to spend more money and go to the store to add a topping that I already paid for?? No thank you. It was a bit spicy, which I like, but it was that kind of spicy that gives you acid heartburn for a day or more.
I ordered the Caesar salad and it was not great either. The dressing was bitter and didn’t have much flavor. Even adding salt and pepper didn’t improve it. On top of all this, it took a really long time to get our food and then, all of the pizzas were cold when they came to the table. Seriously??? Overall, I don’t have any desire to go back. I’ll stick to their sister restaurant, Cane Rosso, next door. Their food is top notch, crazy good.

We got their version of a meatlovers pizza. I love the fresh basil and loaded suace but my family was impartial to it. I also got the Honey bastard pizza based on recommendations and it was too sweet for us. I wish it had more of a kick!

Kids loved the arcade though! The holiday decor made for really cute photos!!

The establishment was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and service was fast. Their prices seemed average for the area. Their portions were small in my opinion definitely considering they have the metal pans out to show size but the pie is much smaller than advertised. The pizza was good just wish the sauce packed more flavor. Overall if you love pizza give them a chance.

This is my first time trying Detroit style pizza, and it won’t be my last! The lady at the counter was very nice. I asked her how long they’ve been there. She advised for four years. The atmosphere is cool. The establishment is very clean. The old Galaga and Street Fighter II arcade games definitely caught my eyes. I ordered a small pepperoni and sausage pizza. It could feed two people. The flavors were delicious. The pepperoni has a little kick to it! It was pepperoni-ing! The soft serve with peanut butter cups was a nice treat as well. Overall a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back!

From the aesthetic vibe to customer service to the food this is THE spot for your pizza needs. My partner and I wanted to try a new spot and we are so glad we picked here. You could split a pizza to share with another person. Staff was so friendly and so patience while we as new comers figured out what we wanted from the various amazing options. 11/10 would come here again! They have monthly pizza options so we had to try October’s special.

I have continually dined at the other pizza restaurants that this particular one are owned by, and I have to say that this one establishes a great identity for its very delicious deep-dish pizza. The food was great and I enjoyed both the main pizzas and the appetizers that we got along with them. The atmosphere and service were pretty good as well, it was fun to eat there and the service felt personal and helpful. Great place, perhaps not the best out of the three pizza restaurants owned by the same people (Cane Rosso, Zolis, and Thunderbird), but still great and distinguished.

Great service and solid pizza.

Tasty pizza that was a great value with the lunch meal. $11 for 2 slices and fries is a deal in my book.

They also have good soft serve. If you’re hesitant about paying $1 for a topping, just do it. I ordered mine with Reeses and the server put the equivalent of 4 full sized cups crumbled on top.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. They kept the place clean. The pizza was delicious and full of flavor. I got the small pizza and shared it with my daughter, and we couldn’t finish it. The wings were average. The fries with the dipping sauce were amazing.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. Never had Detroit style pizza before. Opted for the lunch option which includes a salad and 2 slices of pizza. I tried the budd and the Connie. The crusts were crispy, not too doughy, everything was fresh, tomato sauce was perfect. Recommend to give it a try.

Our first visit to Thunderbird Pies and it was phenomenal!! We ordered the large half the hot honey one and half ‘drip pan’. Super helpful staff, great open, casual space and they changed one of the TVs to the game of our choice. We’ve been to Cane Rosso (next door) and it’s good as well but the Detroit style – thick crispy crust – was a step up!! We will definately be back and encourage others to try it!!!
