Wow! What an incredible and authentic Barbecue stop. Located off of historic Thousand Oaks Blvd in Old Town T.O.
Dined at this local favorite at this iconic Barbecue shop at the suggestion of a family member.
What an incredible experience.
I had a loaded mouth watering tri tip sandwich with a fresh salad and the best chili beans I have ever had if you ever have a chance to stop in this iconic Barbecue shop do it. You won’t regret it!
Great flavor and a down home unique atmosphere

I’m a regular at Thousand Oaks Meat Locker—usually stopping by 2–3 times a month—and it never disappoints. The food is consistently solid and satisfying. It may not be the absolute best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely Conejo Valley good, and that counts.
The service is always friendly and helpful, and the rustic vibe of the restaurant feels perfectly authentic for a BBQ spot. I love grabbing lunch here with friends. The atmosphere and local charm always keep me coming back.
Locally owned, consistently good, and a place I’m happy to support.

This place has that old-school, classic charm — not fancy or well-maintained, but it has its own kind of mystique. The service is reasonable, nothing to rave about but it gets the job done.
The pork and beef ribs are definitely the highlight — flavorful and satisfying. The tri-tip sandwich is just okay; the beef lacks depth and tastes a bit too mild, possibly from cheaper grain-fed cuts.
One great plus: they can prepare meals for large groups (12–20 people) for pick-up, which is super convenient if you’re hosting an event at home.

Been coming for years, the food is delicious, service is always excellent and the relaxed, old ambiance of the whole place makes your meal better. Every time we can, we bring a friend who’s never been here and they’re all in love with the place. We drive from the SFV just to have lunch here evey once in a while, totally worth the drive. There’s always plenty of parking and seating available.

Nice and quick service but honestly the worst BBQ of my life. The quality wasn’t good. But that’s probably why it was so affordable for BBQ.

The meat is refrigerated no choice on how you want cooked, the place was empty when I was there its a nice place but missing something probably never going back..

Ordered the Manly Tri Tip sandwich with beans and macaroni. The Trip Tip was good but a bit dry for my taste. Good meat should be delicious without the use of BBQ sauce. The habanero sauce was on point and I would definitely buy next time I’m in the area.

Fair prices for the serving size. Not a lot of side options other than cold salads and beans.
