Thong’s Authentic Thai Restaurant – Green Bay – DoorDash
Reviews
I had the Tom Yum soup with a side of rice. I like heat but the first time the medium (#3) level had tears running down my face and I enjoyed the #2 more.
We will definitely be coming back!
*Edited 8/2024: Under new ownership the ambience has improved. The new owner is incredibly sweet and friendly and the food is still good. ❤️
I ordered:
Fresh spring rolls with shrimp
Traditional Thai fried rice with extra tofu
Mango sticky rice
I ate the mango sticky rice.
The fried rice didn’t have much flavor (especially the tofu) or many vegetables.
The shrimp spring rolls were very thin with wilted lettuce and maybe one shrimp between the two rolls.
Delivery through DoorDash – Order was ready in the time promised and arrived hot.
This out of the way restaurant is very unassuming inside and out. Minimal decor, and very quiet. This is the perfect place for anyone with sensory issues.
The waiter was upbeat, and quick to assist.
The fired spring rolls were delicious and very much like Thai street rolls.
The portions are a little smaller but that’s just because we as living in America have gotten so used to ridiculous portions. My only complaint with the food was the spice level. I ordered the Pad Prik and asked for it to be xxxxtra spicy. It was ok and thankfully they had chili flake on the counter.
All in all it was still delicious and will be back to try more.
Our server was pleasant and very accommodating since we ate in but also at the end of our meal decided to do a carry-out. The food came to our table surprisingly quick.
Had the Seafood Pad Cha with no spice which was very delicious. The flavors of galangal and lemon grass reminded the palate you were visiting an authentic Asian kitchen. There were a few baby green peppercorns to add just a bit of spice that didn’t overwhelm and were optional to eat.
In this difficult time for restaurants I would expect veggie and noodle fillers in a dish. I was amazed that the entree was mostly seafood with a moderate amount of veggies to support the dish. There was at least 6 mussels, 5-6 shrimp and numerous calamari. Calamari at most restaurants is typically very tough and not enjoyable to eat. The calamari here was so tender I can’t wait to come here again.
If you’re looking for something different than fast food, give Thong’s Authentic Thai Restaurant a try, you will be glad you did.
