So disappointing! The website and menu look great, ambiance fits the bill (fun sports bar), …but… food was disappointing, details were not in place and too many waitstaff standing around! The QR code, placed on the tables, to see the drink menu, did not work. When we asked about this we were told, “yeah it’s down. They are re-doing it” Then, when I asked for a drink menu, they didn’t have one. The sliders were gross: dry meat with a razor thin piece of cheese that was unrecognizable. Overall just disappointing. This is a place with a fun atmosphere and vibe, but the quality of the food and details are very subpar.

Massive beer selection, with every kind of style available. Bar is backed by a video wall for easy sports viewing from any seat. The length of the bar does make it trickier to flag down a bartender, but the staff did an admirable job in ensuring everyone was served.

Totally enjoyed a lunch break. Started with drinks; Hubs had Hobbs Dark Larger, I had the Santa’s Helper Martini. We shared an order of delicious Poutine and the Nashua Sliders. We will be back!!

Ordered takeout, 13 bucks for poutine fries, it want the only thing I ordered. It isn’t about the quality of the food it is a out the quantity. You pay 13 bucks for some fries covered in gravy you expect a shareable portion. You can see the bottom of the tin…. Do better.

Thirsty Moose in Portsmouth consistently delivers really good, high-quality food that actually feels worth the price you’re paying. Everything tastes fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully done—this isn’t basic bar food, it’s clearly made with care.
The only small critique I have is with takeout: for the price point, upgrading the plasticware would go a long way. It’s a minor detail, but better utensils would better match the quality of the food itself.
Overall, still a great spot and one I’d happily recommend for both dine-in and takeout.

Okay, the food was good, not great.
My wife had the Pesto Salmon, and she liked it. The carrots bed was good. I had the steak and chicken tips with 2 sauces (Western apricot and citrus chipotle). The citrus chipotle tasted like a regular BBQ. The steak was very dry. Chicken, fries, and, of course, the beer were good.
I can’t complain about the service. Our waiter, Craig, was really nice and treated us super well.
The dessert was delicious. We had a Chocolate mousse.
The atmosphere in this place is very agreeable.

During our recent day trip, we enjoyed lunch at the Thirsty Moose before heading home.
This restaurant has an impressive selection of beer, cider, hard seltzer, a full bar, and non-alcoholic drinks. Their expansive bar is backed by a continuous wall of TVs and more dot the walls of the dining areas. The open restaurant has plenty of seating, especially along the bar.
Their menu has all the classic pub food, some with an inventive twist and clever names. They have a gluten-free menu available but not a dedicated fryer. I really enjoyed my cauliflower crust Greek pizza, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Bullwinkle burger and was able to upgrade it to two patties. Our server, Sean, was attentive, friendly, and made sure our experience was perfect.
This is an excellent location to stop by for a meal for solo guests, couples, families, or groups. We’d definitely come back to Thristy Moose the next time we’re in the area.
