Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Except that from the outside, the Third Street Tavern looks like what it is. It’s a local watering hole for people who live in the neighborhood and want pool tables and inexpensive drinks.
My order was warmly taken and my beer was opened. I was offered a glass. I say with my Miller Lite and watched the comings and goings for a bit. One and done.
It’s an A-OK spot.

Old gray headed dude that works the liquor store is a total tool. I had three beers from the attached bar and then went outside to smoke cig out front when he came he told me I had to leave cause I wasn’t inside buying anything. Very rude and unprofessional.
But in a side note, Melinda was one of the coolest bartenders I’ve ever had. Courteous and kind but with some serious spunk. Made the experience half worth it.

Stopped in to play some pool. Atmosphere was laid back but the bartender laid out her problems and business to every customer that came in. Was a major buzz kill, couldn’t tell if she was drunk. Next time I’ll bring extra dollars for music. Other than that, we’d come back for pool.

Great spot! It’s not very large, but it’s clean and comfortable. Mixed drinks were served properly, not skimpy like some other places do, but not too heavy to throw off the flavor. There was a decent selection- I ordered my usual shot and mixed drink and the barkeep had what I wanted and knew how to mix it. I will add this place to my rotation!
