The Chao special dish was a fulfilling brunch and something I have never seen before. It is a must try and enough for two to share whom just want a light meal. The rice paper dish with pork, shrimp and egg was good but there wasn’t enough filling inside to make it flavorful without the dipping sauce. The nuc nam was okay but could be a little bit more salty and sweet. I think I would enjoy the rice rolls more if fresh mint and basil were provided on the side too.

Super good food and amazing drinks. Service was very friendly and prompt. Ordered the special 1, chao 1, winter melon drink, and cafe sua da. The winter melon drink had basil seeds and other jellies which made it super tasty. Everything was delicious and we would come back again and again.

Tasty Vietnamese breakfast at Thien Huong at Mira Mesa! We really enjoyed the special 2 roll with egg, pork, and ground shrimp and the Chao 2 with meatball, Vietnamese ham, eggs and hot dog. The egg coffee and ube coffee were also quite yummy. Friendly and sweet staff with quick service. Recommend!

My niece wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday; I chose this place. We ordered pork roll $13.50 and shrimp roll $14.50. Both were yummy delicious as always!

Both dishes (Special #1 and #8) we ordered were fulfilling, fresh and delicious! We’ll stop by again if we are in the area.

-Shrimp roll $14- very tasty shrimp flavor. I couldn’t get enough of it. Steamed pork loaf and fried pork loaf accompanied the plate were a perfect combination along with blanched bean sprouts and chopped cucumber.
-Special Combo #1- my significant other enjoyed his dish, especially the fried dough that came with it.
-Three color bean dessert $5.66- refreshing. Loved the coconut milk. Most places nowadays use half and half which I don’t care for.

I always enjoy the food here. It’s yummy delicious whether I dine here or order a party tray to take home.

Looking forward to returning for more delicious tasty shrimp roll!

I would not have come in here if my friend hadn’t recommended (not located in a popular plaza, opened Dec 2022). We met up for lunch after her hair appointment next door. Glad I agreed to meet her here because I had a great experience: reasonable price, yummy food, pleasant staff and clean all round.

Food:
-With pork $12
-With Shrimp $13.50
-Special #1 $14.50 take to go

Looking forward to sharing this hidden gem with my family.

Update review – This is my second time to try out this restaurant and it is much better than my first experience. We had a Chao 1 and a Special 2, both of them are delicious. The service is nice and friendly. The store is not big but very clean. This restaurant is from the owner’s family recipe, it is unique and exclusive. You should come to try it out.
Previous review- So many people recommend this place. We were thinking to come here last Saturday for lunch hut line was so long. We had to wait for 45 minute to get the food, so we left and chose a weekday to have lunch here. I think the foods here are nice and unique but it is a little bit overrated. I don’t think it’s worthy to wait 45 minute for their foods. But if you are curious, it’s still nice to try. I love their fried Mung bean Fritters the most. The egg & shrimp rolls’ taste are kinda bland.

Delicious, unique and affordable!
The space is counter service, clean and casual. The service was quick, brought us water to our table despite being counter service which was really nice.
The Banh Mi Chao #1 was something I never had. The meatballs and beef were so flavorful and the sauce mixed with eggs is delicious.
The Special #2 was very good, the banh cuon with egg and pork and the banh cuon with shrimp were soft, warm, filling and all at an affordable price. Overall, amazing food and place that you can’t easily find in San Diego.

Excellent banh cuon! Very soft and fresh. It’s getting harder and harder to find good, non-stale, banh cuon. The fillings were super tasty. Note that the shrimp is fresh shrimp, not dry. The nuoc mam (fish sauce) was wonderfully tasty while not having an overpowering garlic flavor. Because they’re made fresh, expect to wait a bit, but the wait is not terribly long. This place gets busy and they don’t have a ton of space. Maybe about 10 to 15 tables. If all tables are filled, they’ll start their waitlist outside on a clip board.

The steam rice rolls with sausage and egg was fun to eat, the overall taste is on the sweet side. Some of my friends have a problem of eating sweet sausage.

If you are new to this kind of food, order a sample plate to try before getting one for everyone.

Great menu options that aren’t common to find other places. We read that it can get very busy and it was filling up by the time we left, but when we got there there was no wait at all.

The food was pretty good. The combos are very big so might be good for sharing – we each got one and thought we ordered too much food. Loved the egg coffee!
