Food was great!!! Service was so nice quick fix on an order mistake. Chef and waitress came to be sure of it being fixed. Everyone was super nice. Waitress was quick on her feet and super sweet ( and her half and half hair color eats !). My boyfriend finished the burger before I could take a pic but my catfish platter was delicious . Happy Valentine’s day !! They had cute balloons up too. And atmosphere is comfortable. Was super surprised that it didn’t have more customers, I thought they might have been reserved for an event but no!! People should for sure check this place out !!!

Visited Lynchburg today for a college tour and found this local gem of a restaurant! I’ve never had anyone’s collards compare to my Mother’s, and theirs were so good I had to buy a quart to go! My sons loved the brisket sandwich and the fifth street burger. The owners were so welcoming and kind. Wish I could give this restaurant more stars! Would definitely go back.

We just had to try The Yard on Fifth which is on the corner of 5th and Federal.
The owners are amazing and our server (April) was very attentive and so sweet.
The food was delicious, with a large menu that has some thing for everyone!!
We started with an order of jalapeño cheddar hush puppies that come with a drizzle and side of honey. Crispy and flavorful, with a nice jalapeño kick!!
I had the catfish platter, which is seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection, that came with season fries, and barbecue beans, which you can have with or without meat!
My husband had the brisket sandwich that came with french fries.
Every bite was delicious!
The owners have clearly done a tremendous amount of work on this location, and it shows! The dining area is right next to the bar and has long tables for larger groups, or even family style seating where you could share and make friends! Outdoor dining, which is where we chose to sit on this beautiful day, has 4 chair tabletops all with umbrellas. They also  have a huge fire pit area with 9 chairs where you can enjoy a cocktail or even have dinner.
IKaraoke on Thursdays, and bands on Friday (starting soon!), and on Saturdays a DJ!! we were here during lunch and they have excellent selection of music (theSpinners, KC and the Sunshine Band, Luther Vandross, all the favorites!) playing out here in the patio area.
We had such a delicious and fun lunch today, and highly recommend coming for lunch or dinner!

The food was great, service and atmosphere was great. My only complaint was the menu wasn’t updated. I thought I ordered 3wings with 2 sides and it was actually 2 wings and 2 sides when the menu clearly read 3wings. The manager on duty stated he was aware that the menu wasn’t updated but advised he would updated it soon. 2 days later, I spoke to another customer who had the same issue with the same item on the menu.

What a nice surprise for the community! The food is delicious, the seating areas are lovely, can’t wait to go back! I’d never really heard of collard greens, but I tried them and they’re particularly amazing! So glad they’re here in Lynchburg ❤️✝️

I was stranded for a couple hours while my car was at the shop down the street. I was traveling with my dogs and it was dark and chilly when I sat on their patio, which was closed for the season. The waitress served me outside and turned the gas fire pit on so we had somewhere warm to hang out while we waited. Great hospitallity! FYI, everything worked out and we made it to SC.

Great place with some good food. I really miss the old place that used to be here. I hadn’t been here in a few years since I was working at Amazon down in North Carolina. But when I came back I was disappointed that fifth and federal wasn’t there anymore. Does anybody know what happened or why they shut down. I loved that place mostly because the owners were just such amazing people!

Friendly staff, the aroma from the smoker is enough to bring a lot of people in. I ordered the pork BBQ slider platter with fries and slaw. Everything was pretty good, the slaw was creamy and the fries were decent. I ordered an additional side of baked Mac n cheese which was great. You get two sliders and the pork BBQ tasted really good, hat off to the gentleman running the smoker. There was not a ton of meat on the sliders, they could stand to have a little more BBQ on there. For the platter, extra side of Mac n cheese, and a sprite it was $23.65 before tip. I think this place has a lot of potential. Just needs a little more value proposition, price seems a little high for what came on the plate. Would go back to try out more like the catfish or other dishes.

OMG the bar tender is such a sweetheart. She’s amazing. I forgot to get her name. The atmosphere is so chill and relaxing during lunch time. My bison burger was amazing! Fast service. Great customer service! Great food! Great music! I pray that this business prospers and lasts for many years here in Lynchburg! ( one suggestion as they grow would be to offer hand cut French fries.) I’LL BE BACK TO TRY MORE MENU ITEMS! ☺️

This is our family’s favourite spot! We found it and keep finding our way back. I didn’t even take a pic of my food before it disappeared. I love these folks. They sure do make a body feel good and I can’t even with the food. I kept saying this is so good to my husband. I was like no, it’s really really good. It’s dang good. Check it out for yourself!
