Sassy Chophouse + Cocktails

  4.5 – 14 reviews   • Restaurant

This Fort Morgan oasis is our less-fussy high-quality dining concept that pays tribute to the classic theme Tiki places. Sassy Chophouse + Cocktails has quickly become known for its exceptional prime-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone competition ribs, and super-moist beef brisket. The thatch roof bar wrapped in crushed bamboo is part Don Ho’s living room and part speakeasy and sets the scene for island-inspired cocktails made with freshly squeezed juices and house-made syrups. Try the Skipper that’s made with enough rum to make you confuse Thurston Howell for Ginger.

This review is specifically for Sassy Chophouse & Cocktails. My boyfriend and I stayed two nights in Fort Morgan while on a road trip from Florida to Louisiana (follow me @alliventures_travel on instagram to see what our road trip entailed!). We ended up at Sassy our first night because it was the closest restaurant to the yurt we were staying at (which I also highly recommend). After eating there, we couldn’t have been happier we ended up here. The service from our waiter, Dylan, was amazing as was the food. I had the tuna steak and my boyfriend had the pork chop and both were cooked to perfection and tasted so yummy. We also split creamed corn and mushrooms and started with coconut shrimp as an app. We loved this place so much we went there the next night, first for drinks from the lovely bartender Leslie and then again for dinner with Dylan as our waiter once again. The manager, Joey, recognized us and appreciated our repeat business so much that he surprised us with the most beautiful charcuterie board. We barely had room for our ribs and Cajun shrimp skillet, but both were amazing and we took them home with us. If we’re ever back in Fort Morgan, we’re definitely stopping by Sassy Chophouse & Cocktails.

We ordered three NY strips. Each steai was cooked to perfection. On piece I cut with a fork so if that tells you how tender it was. The sides were amazing. Portions were large for the price. The manager came around to each table. A nice hidden jem.

Our second time to eat at this hidden gem. The food is delicious, atmosphere and staff are top notch. We had ribs, ribeye, ny strip, tuna, shrimp skewers and enjoyed every thing! The specialty drinks were so good. We can’t wait to be back again next year! Highly recommend.

Incredible. Sirloin tips flavor and tenderness off the chart. Caesar salad was a beauty. Cold drinks and excellent service!!

What a great find! Got turned away from another local place due to the lines. So glad we found this place. Great food. Great service and great vibe. Do not be prematurely deceived by its location on the backside of a gas station. This is high quality!

Chill, relaxing & inviting atmosphere. Steak cooked to perfection, brussel sprouts are a “must have”, coconut shrimp on point & key lime pie was the perfect cap. Our server, Jeffery, was attentive, friendly, & offered great suggestions. As a local, we will be visiting this new spot regularly.

This is a true hidden gem. We stayed in gulf shores and it was well worth the 30 minute drive. Food, service, and atmosphere all deliver!

Shrimp appetizer was the only good dish we had. Brussels sprouts were ok. Salmon and ribeye were disappointing

Sadly I went for the early bird menu and was advised that even though it show , it is not available during the summer months. Wish the web site was accurate. Very disappointed.
