TLDR:
Overall: Fun, extremely sweet (although pricy) over-the-top milkshakes
My Order: Brookie Batter Specialty Milkshake
Price Breakdown: $23.90 (including tax, etc for a pricier one of the milkshake options)
Portions: Enough to share one milkshake between two people
Halal/Vegetarian Friendly: Not applicable, though dairy-wise there might be vegan options but I’m not 100% sure, do check on that!
Would get again: I am very tempted to try the strawberry cheesecake or the oreo one, but probably would get the bowl instead of the milkshake next time.
So this was one insane milkshake. After seeing pictures online of these over-the-top fantasy-esque milkshakes and realized there was a new location in Berkeley, I was very intrigued and finally made my way down. We got the specialty milkshake (mostly bc it comes with the souvenir glass that they let you clean and take home after) and I promise you this is enough for two people for sure. There were a lot of moving parts in our Brookie Batter Specialy Millshake, cookie dough icecream, a brownie, a cookie, lots of chocolate chips, a definitely very pretty dessert.
This was a very sweet dessert (almost needed to wash down with water at some point) and we were incredibly full by the end of it, even when we shared it. The flavors were very fun at first, but as we continued, it did get a bit overwhelming and the tastes merged together a bit. The milkshake part ended up being a bit more refreshing than the rest of it. And unfortunately but understandably the price is quite a bit steep for the milkshake, but this was a very complex treat with lots of different components that made it a bit more worth it. The staff was also lovely and helpful in getting utensils and choosing a milkshake.
Overall, definitely not trying to be a regular here (for the sake of my health ), but will be back to try the other flavors (in bowl form) at some point. I may add a star if the oreo one fulfills my heart’s desires.
Rude staff, horrible business model, insane prices. Do not come here expectating the happy-go-lucky ice cream experience with friends or on a date. I paid 20 dollars for a medium single flavor milkshake. With barely any toppings.
I came here with my girlfriend for a night on the town and immediately upon entering we were barked at by an extremely angry staff member to order using the singular soulless kiosk to order ice cream at the other end of the room. We paid the same price for a full tank of gas for a very disappointing milkshake with literally two toppings while we felt anxiously crowded by the 50 people in line behind us waiting to order on the machine instead of with a staff member.
The bar seemingly offered no samples which is ridiculous considering they have a wide arrangement of ice cream flavors. Making it very difficult to even decide on anything.
It was all around just a terrible ice cream parlor experience. Zero friendly communication with the staff, zero nice date night vibes, terrible terrible TERRIBLE ice cream to price ratio. I think if you are a young college student from another country you would think this is fine and normal, but as it stands – an absolute dumpster fire of an ice cream place.
Instead try: Cream, Little Gem Belgian Waffles, Insomnia Cookies
