Chicken and Rib Crib in Mahwah, NJ, is the definition of a local treasure. My experience here was overwhelmingly positive, and I left feeling extremely satisfied and already planning my next trip. In fact, it would have been absolutely flawless if not for one small, subjective thing—but more on that in a moment.
The service alone sets this place apart. A huge shout-out to Kelly behind the counter, who was genuinely amazing. She was incredibly patient, took the time to explain various menu items, and was more than accommodating when I changed my order mid-transaction. That level of hospitality is rare and immediately makes you feel welcome.
Now, for the food. The chicken was hot, fresh, and undeniably delicious, delivering a perfectly cooked, satisfying bite. My only, only critique is that the seasoning was just a little too salty for my specific taste. I fully recognize this is likely a preference thing, and many others may find it perfectly seasoned, but it was the only issue I had. Thankfully, everything else was perfect: the fries were beautifully crispy and seasoned well, and the dinner roll was surprisingly soft—not one of those old, hard rolls you sometimes get at other chicken joints. The quality here is top-notch.
Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience. The combination of stellar service and high-quality, fresh food makes Chicken and Rib Crib a standout. I only wish they had more locations! But at least I know exactly where I’m heading the next time I find myself in Mahwah, NJ.

It’s been a few years since ordering from this place. Call to double check the special instructions as they might be having app tech issues. I can’t complain for the quality is higher than the pricing. This is a go to for fast food in the area. I have to give 4 stars as the order was prepared wrong. We are all human and make mistakes. I hope the manager is still around he was a good guy. The last time I ordered delivery At Ramapo college sculpture center he had told me about the accident he had there. People are writing the place has gone downhill so hopefully he is okay. You can’t really beat the chicken dinner prices anywhere else. The special instructions was for the 24k Gold sauce to be on the side.

Food is consistently good, lots of menu options, and lots of chicken options. It takes extremely long for delivery though, so I opt to pickup, but even ordering one meal is at least a half hour wait to pickup. Food is always packed well though and orders are always correct.

Haven’t been here in over a decade so I decided to stop in for lunch today. $14.26 got me 4 piece jumbo fried shrimp and 2 BBQ Raleigh ribs. Shrimp was great, served with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I wouldn’t call them jumbo but normal sized nd butterflied. The ribs had a thin bark to them, great smoky flavor and fall off the bone ready, sauce wasn’t too sweet. They actually gave me 3! This small take out place has 6 seats while you wait and a refrigerator case of drinks. Sharon at the register was friendly and helpful.

I feel absolutely robbed. This is a 5 piece “jumbo” chicken tender meal. It was on the menu for $17.50. Between the delivery fee and driver tip, I paid $31 . I’d be shocked if this would cost me over a $1.50 at home. Will not be giving this place a second chance.

This spot always has the best wings. Sometimes they are super small but I really enjoy wings that are smaller than normal. The 24 karat sauce is something everyone needs to try. They have plenty of other options as well.
