Soooo scrumptious and delicious! I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo which had perfectly balanced flavors. The okra combined with the generous protein portions and the warm soup melted in my mouth. Service was very quick. Lots of outdoor seating and street parking. Music is very reminiscent of Southern blues/jazz! You feel like you are transported to NOLA. Definitely a soul food staple of the North Bay.

The family loves the Cajun Chicken Pot Pie here. It does have a bit of potatoes which isn’t my personal preference. Since I prefer rice over potatoes, I have enjoyed their jambalaya before. Service is excellent. I called in my order, and it was ready when I arrived. I only had to wait for one person in front of me at the window. There is very limited outdoor seating for only a few people.

Outdoor street dining through a takeout window. Fantastic food quality. Limited hours and supplies so you want to be early if possible. Various specials on different days, such as beignets. Beignets are Saturday before 1030am.

The po’boys are fantastic. I have had the catfish and shrimp ones. The hush puppies are really good as well.

We had the catfish and oyster po’ boys, and the gumbo. It was delicious!!! Divine. This is by far the best po’ boy that I’ve tasted outside of the South. It’s tastes authentic and brings back memories of eating catfish po’ boys with friends down South. I love it and would highly recommend.

sept. 3 2025. got too excited and ate the half the po’boy to quick. i had the brisket po’boy and it was good. with everything on it, zesty sauce lettuce tomatos mustard(i think). be prepared on a hefty footer po’boy. in between bites, even one after another i was thinking i can finish it or save some for later. but 2/3 way to the po’boy i stop. besides all that. the brisket was good, barely any spice to it but you hav Louisiana and tobasco sauces out on the side(if youre eating at the tables there) good amount of portions and you gotta be prepare to start off with a big bite. i mention it hefty so its forsure hefty and kinda like almost brokedamouth kind of way. anyway, get lil joint being on the side of the rode(if going there, you will probably miss it) but you’ll see tables outside. so, it was good sunny day and nice lil joint to hit up some southern food. be on the look out of their daily specials each day. i only ordered in their regular menu

I am new to the neighborhood and being from a tropical island I believe in always supporting local!

I’ve also lived near NOLA and loved the food. The Workshop’s dishes brings me back to my time out there!!!

One of my favorite things to do is ordering the soup of the day blind(I never look or ask what it is) and enjoying it at the pier on my day off!!!

Really liked everything about this place. The hush puppies were delicious. The catfish and shrimp Po Boys were both delicious. Only thing I did not like was the cocktail sauce. It was VERY heavy on the horseradish. If you really like horseradish then you’ll love it, if not it was overwhelming. The shrimp Po Boy comes with a heavy serving of the cocktail sauce on it so if you’re a first timer, I suggest getting it on the side. The tartar sauce was delicious though, I think the shrimp Po Boy w tartar sauce would be amazing, definitely trying that next time. Just heated up our gumbo, I’ll let you know how it goes!

Wonderful, delicious, authentic Cajun eats. My go to lunch here is the brisket po’boy with a side of Brussel sprouts. If I’m with other, I’ll get the hush puppies too.

First timer – enjoyed The Workshop! Look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.
Got the Shrimp PoBoy with hush puppies. The lady at the window asked if I wanted cocktail sauce on the PoBoy (or on the side) and I agreed to try it as it is made. I would definitely get it again but light cocktail sauce or on the side. Hush puppies and their sauce was very good. It has been a long time since I had a hushpuppy.
Other order was Mixed Seafood. It came with shrimp, oysters, catfish and hushpuppies.
Love the outdoor seating area. They play great music. People coming and going. Street parking and didn’t have a problem finding.
