My wife and I were recently discussing our travels this summer (2024) and the amazing meals we enjoyed. We were in complete agreement that our favorite meal was at Lambert’s Cove Inn during the week of July 4th while on Martha’s Vineyard for the holiday. It was a perfectly lovely experience from our arrival until we departed.
We sat in the garden and highly recommend doing so if you are able. We had an early dinner and ended up having the entire garden to ourselves…which made it very special. The garden is such a beautiful, relaxing space for dining. A cool summer evening listening the Cat Birds fly about. The hustle and bustle of the outside world seemed miles away.
The hospitality was so welcoming…with Bridget checking in with us at different times though out the evening to make sure everything was to our liking.
The meal was perfect! Each course was superbly prepared, spaced, and delicious! Our compliments to Chef Galen.
We cannot say enough about the service. Our server was a delightful young lady (name is escaping me) from Ireland. My wife and I had a wonderful time chatting with her throughout our meal. She was the perfect hostess for a truly wonderful evening.
Lambert’s Cove Inn has our highest recommendation and my wife and I plan to dine with them each time we visit the island.

We just had the most wonderful dinner experience at Woods. Bridget and Galen and their team are simply amazing. Our waitress Anna was so professional and kind. I loved my Caesar salad and lamb dish. I will definitely be back soon. I very highly recommend Woods.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant on the island. We went there last night and dined outside in their gorgeous garden. With subtle string lighting it felt like we were in Provence. The food and service were top notch. The menu is 4 course Prix Fixe and incredibly varied for a small restaurant. They obviously have a very talented chef as every dish our group had was delicious. On top of it, the price was very reasonable for the island. If you want a special night out, I would highly recommend you go here. And be sure to start with a Lambert’s Cove Sunset Spritzer.

This gem is not to be missed! The menu offered great variety. The appetizer portions were appropriate and the entrees were hearty. Delicious all around! The space is romantic with a little rustic whimsy. The caretakers clearly put their heart into the space and service. The service team appeared on the younger side but everyone was charming, attentive, and genuine! I’d definitely recommend arriving early enough to stroll the gorgeous English Garden beforehand!

Best food all week in MV. Group of four – we tried the grab cakes, lamb starter, the strip, short rib, and sea bass….EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. And the wine, a cherry on top. Thank you to the chef and sommelier and amazing server (married to the chef). Will be a must every time we are on the island!!!!

Dining at the Lambert Cove Inn in Martha’s Vineyard is pure pleasure! Chef Galen Sampson and his wife, Bridget are perfect hosts. Their talents, warmth and hospitality provide a unique and elegant dining experience. Each delicious course is presented exquisitely, perfectly seasoned and the well trained staff are attentive and accommodating. Surrounded by Bridget’s lovely gardens and floral arrangements, Galen and Bridge have created a cozy and relaxing dining atmosphere with signature menu options that would be hard to compare!
