They make a great chicken fried steak! All the food is great. It is the go to spot for me and my wife. The service is friendly and helpful. They are a local business and we love to support our local small business folks! Well worth a drive to La Porte to get a fresh made meal.

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavor and so tasty. Our server was incredibly nice and very helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. To top it off, the owner came out personally to greet us, which made the visit feel extra welcoming and special. Great food, warm hospitality, and an overall fantastic atmosphere—I’ll definitely be coming back!

If they are open, just go. This place has homemade desserts, southern fare, and a wonderful small town atmosphere. They stay busy and there is a reason for it. We had the fried green tomatoes, cooked to perfection, a chicken fried steak plate, and a fried chicken sandwich. Out of this world good! Quaint setting with top notch service. Then finish with a freshly prepared homemade dessert. It’s worth the trip for sure.

A nice restaurant when visiting La Porte, Texas. I had a simple mushroom and Swiss burger. It almost felt like these buns were homemade and the fries were crispy. I could see this place getting really busy on Saturday and Sunday.

Pops got the $13.99 special he loved the burger and onion rings. Said it needed nothing.
I got the fire in the hole and fries, only thing id change was an option to do fresh jalapenos instead of pickled. Wish it was a little spicier.
Overall… amazing vibe and food. Onion rings are great.

Just Dils
I came to this restaurant in November passing through on my way to a cruise. Today, I’m passing through again and wanted to try them again and I’m glad I did. Chloe was great and when asked her opinion on what to try, she provided several recommendations. We decided to go with the chicken friend chicken and I’m glad we did. They were so accommodating and cut us a thinner piece of chicken which was seasoned very well! Any time, I’m traveling through this area I will always stop. This owner supports his staff and I respect the fact that he doesn’t let customers belittle or disrespect his staff. So many people have the mentality the customer is always right and that’s not always the case. I’d rather support a family owned business where they’re free to talk to you without having to be pressed for corporate time. That’s the atmosphere where you feel welcomed and like family. Thank you, for a wonderful meal again as we’re passing through.

Let me start off by saying as a first-time customer i want to announce that I ordered the “bagwell” burger which is a burger served with mac and cheese on it. I took my first bite of the burger and couldn’t help but notice the tasty flavor of the meat. The owner Chad was walking to tables asking about the foods. As he proceeded to come to my table I couldn’t help but brag on the atmosphere he had going. Very humble guy to speak with. I can gladly say I will be returning.
