Stopped in at The Wooden Nickel Pub & Grill in Granite City while in Collinsville. I had the smashburger (swapped to a regular bun) with American cheese, grilled onions, and their Thousand Island–style sauce, plus fries. My wife had the Asian Pork Wrap with house-made chips. The fries and chips were good, and the service was attentive throughout our visit. The highlight was being able to order a Beach Bum (Kona Big Wave mixed with Mango Cart). The burger and wrap weren’t particularly memorable, but overall it was a fine lunch stop with great service.

The food and drinks are superb. The service is great, our waitress would come by at just the right time to check on us.

We stopped in for Saturday lunch and were seated right away despite a busy crowd. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable—plenty of drink refills and helpful menu suggestions. On our server’s recommendation, we tried the guacamole bites (like guacamole-stuffed Rangoon) with a jalapeño ranch sauce—unique and really good.
Entrees took a little while but nothing unreasonable for a busy weekend. At our table, we had the Nickel Burger, Frisco Melt, and Spinach Turkey Wrap with a mix of waffle fries, sweet potato fries, and house-made chips. Everything was solid, with the waffle fries and appetizer standing out.
Nice covered patio out front and another with umbrellas in the back. With drinks and an appetizer, lunch for three came to about $65 with tax. Would definitely return.

I was very happy with my meal and service from here. The food was tasty and came out quick! I had the strawberry Bellini, double smash burger, and garlic cheese bites and I would recommend it to everyone. Will be coming back!

What an incredible restaurant. Very friendly staff and owners. The food looks incredible and taste great. I was recommended to try the loaded baked potato with brisket that was amazing. The portions are huge, I seen the horseshoe and the nachos come out of the kitchen and they looked so yummy and such huge portions. I will come back to try the horseshoe. Highly recommend!!!

The food was great, but our service was questionable. She seemed to be very indifferent. When we left, we had told another group that they could have our table. The waitress was not happy about that. She obviously didn’t want to be there.

Per my 9 year old… Wooden Nickel in Glen Carbon has amazing food. Wednesday special is peak cinema. The waitress. Michelle, is very kind. She definitely deserves all the tips. Wooden Nickel is always a great experience. All of the other waitresses are great as well. This is always a bi-weekly spot for us.

Moved daughter back to school So wanted to try somewhere new in Edwardsville. Very cool atmosphere, friendly staff. But the food was just OK. I got a bpt and it was as small as the bun and not much flavor. Daughter and wife bought shrimp tacos came with 3 tacos and only 2 mini shrimp on each one and no flavor on this also they both said

Food was good. The service was great. We just had an issue with the way the waitresses were dressed. The sheer, almost completely see-thru bra-less look was a bit distracting. Some oeople “expect” such things from a bar & grill. I don’t. I would give a 5 star rating if not for that.
The food is a bit expensive. We spent $50 on two large salads and two fountain sodas. But they were also huge – We ended up taking half of the salads home. We were also given sodas to go. Also, they didn’t skimp on the meat, so overall, it was a good value.
We sat in the outdoor area. It was nice weather and not very noisy even though it was pretty busy at the time.
I was impressed with the exotic plants at the front of the building. Many kudos to the gardener. (Explains some of the cost of the salads, I’m sure)
Having to live on Social Security, I doubt, we’ll do it again. But it was a nice treat for a change.
