This bbq joint has the potential to be something really special, as the food is decent, and the space is large enough they could offer entertainment, but it’s like they renovated some parts and forgot the rest? Not that that’s stopped me from eating there, but it’s kind of off-putting. The brisket is delicious, but the portions have gotten smaller and smaller… Even with sides, it’s not nearly enough to fill a person. I’d like to see them finish renovations, raise the price by $2 (if that’s what it takes) and stop being so chintzy with the serving sizes.

We are from out of state, just passing through. Very deceiving from the outside. Looks like a small place but it’s actually quite large. Food was really good. My daughter was obsessed with the Mac & cheese. So much so that she asked for seconds and some to go. The rest of us tried the chopped bbq platter, Turkey club and smokehouse burger. All were delicious. Fries are excellent. The service was great and should we ever pass through the area again we will be sure to make another stop. Thanks for a great experience.

First off we sat close to the line where the food is prepared. Orders were going out wrong and having to go bring them back and start over.
Well, would you believe the same thing happened to us. Brought me nasty sweet potato waffle fries instead of the seasoned fries I ordered. The other order had Cole slaw also not so great instead of seasoned fries.
I had the BBQ sandwich with slaw. The bun was good. BBQ was like it was oven baked after it was cooked. Kinda crispy and really dry. Slaw was not so great either.
The fries by themselves would have been great. Just that cheap fry seasoning is not so great. Taste like a sugar based something.
The other order had a cheeseburger and said it was good, so no complaint there.
There was a lot of people there eating when we got there, so that could contribute to a little, but constant failures, come on. There has to be some order there. Not playing on the phone or just standing around talking to other people, just to be taking.
I’m not normally a rant on here, but this area is getting really slack on their customer service and quality employees.

Its edible, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Cornbread was dry. Coleslaw was soggy. The bbq ribs were tender, but the seasoning was odd. It’s like they did a St. Louis style dry rub on it and then doused it with a vinegar based NC type sauce. Not really my style. The french fries were amazing. The restaurant is HUGE and the tables are tiny. Makes no sense. I would put in some big comfy booth tables in that restaurant. Other than that, the decor was clean and well thought out. The BBQ sauces were all terrible. Too much vinegar, not enough other flavors. The chopped BBQ is the best I’ve had in North Carolina – no joke. I just wasn’t a fan of the sauces.

Have to say a great place! BBQ sandwich’s and brisket are my favorite! The smoke house fries are totally the bomb. Love that it is locally owned and operated! Definitely will be going back to support local business! Highly recommend checking them out!

Food is delicious, but the service is VERY lacking! Waitresses really need to be trained on proper technique. No one came to check on if the order was correct or to see if we needed anything. After we finished dinner, we had to wait 30 minutes for our check. If we want their food again, we will get it to go. This business has great potential, but if they don’t step up on the service I feel they will join the ranks of failed businesses. I’ve had better service in a slow McDonalds drive through. Plus, we sat down to a dirty table, ate on a dirty table, and no one apologized or cleaned it for us.

New Restaurant, bbq pig but is sweet, not the vinegar based pig cooking that I grew up with. Enjoyed the bbq, the collards were good but I felt the need to add vinegar to it. The yeast roll was not what I expected. It was dry and too thick. If that is all I can complain about then I will eat there many more times. Well worth the prices.

Absolutely wonderful food! You can tell a lot of love goes into it. The owner, Mr. Todd Willis, makes sure you’ll want to come back again and again. And if you’re coming on a fishing trip, Neuse River Bait & Tackle is right next door with literally EVERYTHING you’ll need for fishing. Highly recommend this restaurant! (And I don’t do many reviews)
