A wonderful visit today decided last minute with wonderful, helpful, courteous staff, striving to give each visitor an amazing time. The amount of delicious food given for the price is refreshing in today’s world of high prices, with also knowing your waitress and supporting staff want you to enjoy your visit. The orange slices with cinnamon were so refreshing and the pancakes so fluffy and fresh with a special mini carafe of maple syrup, the scrambled eggs so rich and delicious, the bacon and sausage so tasty, among so many other delicious items, and a surprise that they had also my favorite bagels I have not had in along time, blueberry bagels with delicious orange butter! Also really good sweet tea! And the food is brought out to be enjoyed on really pretty dish ware while enjoying a beautifully designed restaurant! We will be coming back! Thank you to Courtney and Ty and the whole staff for anything we needed during our visit!

We love eating at The Wild Onion. Delicious food, warm atmosphere and the best table service you’ll ever have! We love having the side dished served “family style”, which if you don’t know what that is, having all the sides served in mis-matched bowls, just like it would be eating at grandma’s house. The servings are plenteous, and where else can you get refills on sides??! Of course, one round has always been enough for us. From wherever you are, it’s worth the drive!

I’m a local from the area. I’ve gotten to know quite a bit of the community over the years. Especially our local restaurants. And I’m here to tell you there is no argument that this is without a doubt the best restaurant in Randleman. Yes. And maybe even one of the best within Randolph County. At The Wild Onion, you get both Quality and Quantity. How is that possible? I can’t explain it, but maybe the owners can. I ate two meals in one day this past Thanksgiving and there were still no regrets after being over stuffed. There Ribeye Steak is always choice and now my favorite place to get my steak dinner. And the service is on point. You have a waitress there who’s worked for all the restaurants in that area and honestly, I’m glad she’s working for what I now consider my favorite hometown restaurant. God bless The Wild Onion crew. #supportlocal

I can’t wait to go back
We had Banana Pudding Pancakes and Meatloaf so a breakfast offering and a lunch offering made for the best brunch possible which ended with yummy peach cobbler for dessert

Y’all come! The Wild Onion continues to delight us each time we visit, (which is becoming more frequently!). This modest location is packed with tasty goodness and should not be missed! The dining room feels familiar and welcoming, the staff is genuinely friendly and the food…well, words can’t adequately describe how delicious each main course and side tastes. Everything is seasoned just right and reminds me of suppers at my grandparents NC homes “back in the day”. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and variety. Please add this sweet spot to your options. You’ll be glad you did!

Drive past all the time on the way home from work and finally stopped for dinner. Waitresses are super friendly and the food is good southern comfort food. Sides are family style and plenty. Brought our dog with us with the patio being pet friendly and she got a doggy plate and bandana. Highly recommend if ya got the time!

6 friends, all new to this restaurant – let’s try Wild Onion. Waitstaff ensured knowing if this was our first time & it was. We were all amazed by finding a restaurant serving family style sides. I selected the breakfast nachos after changing mind from the fried mushrooms (and something else with which sounded delightful) – decisions decisions! At first I thought wasn’t going to be enough salsa, but it was perfect amount. The taters were good & had 2 slices of watermelon as well. The other friends mostly ordered the country style steak & oh! the family style sides ! Plus dessert choice ! I heard the blueberry cobbler dessert was delicious, however our timing was off as everyone else had selected as well & of the four ordered none was left & then finally one appeared at the table and bites were shared & joyful descriptions & must try were said. The peanut butter pie thoughts weren’t what we expected in our minds, but really good. Nothing like it touched my lips before.
Will have to come back for the fried mushrooms after days of wondering if I made the correct decision. LOL ! still thinking about the meal & experience of Wild Onion 4 days later. Hopefully, now finding the place & many Sundays after church, hoping to go back sooner than later.

The food, especially the chicken & dumplings are so good! You get a full meal, including a sweet treat and you can tell it’s made with love. The atmosphere is like an old country kitchen with the best friends and family, like an old school family gathering in the best way.

My wife and I visited The Wild Onion on Saturday evening. We were there when they opened at 5 PM. There were several people already waiting for them to open.
I admit that I have been by this place many times and hadn’t paid much attention to it because it never seemed to be open when I was there. It turns out the are only open a few days each week and open at 5 PM.
The restaurant is a quaint little place with a lot of character. The first thing I noticed was how clean it was. Then, I could smell the good food that was cooking. This is a family style restaurant. If you’re not familiar with that, it means that they serve the sides in bowls for the entire table with unlimited refills. Their menu changes depending on what fresh food they have available. All of the sides come with every entree. If you order a vegetable plate, all the sides are included.
I had a steak. It was very good. My wife had the vegetable plate which included squash, black-eyed peas, cucumbers, and hush puppies (they call them something else that I can’t remember now). We finished the meal off with dessert, which is also included with each meal. Everything (includind the desserts) are homemade and delicious.
The service was outstanding as well. I think we have a new place that will be added to our favorites.
