I found this super cozy and friendly little restaurant. It’s tucked away off of the street and a bit hard to find, but it’s definitely worth looking for! It isn’t traditional Mexican food. Instead, it’s a modern interpretation but solidly based on traditional. It’s definitely one to check out. The menu is a bit limited but efficient. Everything looks great, so I guess I’ll have to come back and try the other offerings. Saludos!

Small space, intimate seating, unique decor. Enjoyed the Sopa Azteca, hot cinnamon tea, and generous amount of chips with fresh guacamole. Also have bowls and tacos (unpictured). Staff was friendly and food was served within five minutes.

This is a great little place with really delicious food. It has a unique variety of food with a different flare. It is most excellent. The Flan Napolitano was amazing. It is a little hard to find (It has an entrance the back side of Venturi’s) I recommend trying this place.

Gtrat food! In a town that has many Mexican restaurants, The Wholesome Torilla stands out. Food ingredients are a step above! It’s a bit hard to find (in the alley behind Ventui’s). Not a big dinning room. You need to check it out!

I wanted to give 5 full stars but the dish was not as advertised. This is my second time eating here. All of it has a homemade quality. However they put cabbage on my cochinita pabil this last visit. It shows pictures and includes in the description there are red pickled onions (a favorite of mine).
However when I got home and opened my food, they put fresh red cabbage on top. No one said they were out of the onions so I assume they just plain messed up the dish. Disappointing.. but the food I had was great. The chips were freshly made and very good. The guac? Great. The salsas were fantastic too. I just wanted to receive what I ordered.
I would have been cool with it if they were out of the onions and notified me and asked if that was ok. That didn’t happen.
First world problems! Well they have good food. Just check you got what you ordered before you leave if you get takeout like I did. The food is great… Just being honest!

Absolutely stellar. The food was wonderful, great price. Staff was amazing. I’m glad I live so close, its tucked down the alley, behind Venturi, I will be back often. High recommend the coffee.

The Wholesome Tortilla was chosen for a business lunch meeting. Being from out of town (from Winona Lake), I had not been before.
The Wholesome Tortilla is currently located at 121 E. Lincoln Ave. in Goshen, Indiana — tucked away in the alley behind Venturi Neapolitan wood-fired pizzeria. The owners have purchased the old Courthouse Pub building and plan to relocate there, with hopes for the move to be realized in autumn.
With fresh tortillas — made in-house, daily — The Wholesome Tortilla serves a variety of tacos, which include:
Chochinita Pibil: a traditional pork from the Yucatán Peninsula, slow roasted in achiote sauce, baked in banana leaves — garnished with pickled red onions and habanero peppers.
Tinga: shredded beef in a tomato and chipotle pepper sauce with sautéed onions
Potatoes & chorizo, Potatoes and roasted poblano peppers, and more choices…
This taco spot also offers chilaquiles with eggs and a soup option — when I visited, it was their Aztec soup with a choice of a bean or chicken variety.
The service was friendly and fantastic. The Chochinita Pibil was one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. When I go back, it’ll be real hard to not just get three of those — it’s that good: 10/10
During our lunch, someone walked up to our table on the outdoor patio and asked if he was at the right place. If you have trouble finding it, their door has the word EAT hung above it. It’s on the backside of a building, down an alley, just off Lincoln St. The wall surrounding their door is painted with a large, yellow tortilla chip — acting as an arrow pointing the way.
*Remember, they’ll be moving to Main St. in the fall.

This is a small, cozy Mexican themed dinner about the size of a coffee shop. They have friendly staff and really good food. I sampled a variety while I was here, and it is all fresh and high quality. It is not over spiced like a lot of places are. It is true quality and delicious. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and giving them a try. Even if you are not a fan of Mexican cuisine, this place may change your mind. Give it a try

The tacos are out of this world delicious, with freshly made blue and/or yellow tortillas and their fillings full of flavor, but not spicy! We also were deeply impressed and grateful bc their entire menu is gluten free! (You can ask them to hold the dairy on the items that would otherwise be topped with crema/queso fresco for an entirely dairy free meal also!) The Aztec soup is already one of my top fave soups of all time. The outside patio is spacious and the whole vibe of the place is very cool/cute. anyway, yeah, we loved this place.
Also shout out to the vegetarian taco options!
