Food bad. Sweeps 1st place for worst pancake I’ve ever had, slimiest home fries I’ve ever had, driest grits I’ve ever had, and bad biscuits and gravy. If we weren’t starving there’d be a lot more food left in this pic.

Very charming, with a homey atmosphere. Our server was very friendly, as well as knowledgeable about food allergies/intolerances. They have gluten free buns for their burgers and sandwiches. When we asked about the fries, she suggested we order the hand-cut fried potatoes. Then the chef came out and asked which type of potato we would like (red or Yukon gold)! We were delighted and will definitely go back there.

This place was lot cuter inside than I would have guessed from outside. Service was super fast and friendly, I enjoyed my meal. Cheeseburger was small like fast food, which I didn’t mind since some restaurants make them too huge. Onion rings were spot-on.

I had to make a run to the vets office with my cat this morning and had to skip breakfast so I slid into the Whistle Stop Grill for breakfast. I got the Pool Room with two Med fried eggs, fried baloney, potatoes, and a biscuit with sausage gravy on the potatoes. Everything wS perfect except the eggs which were over cooked and I even made sure to ask the server if they could cook over medium eggs and she assured me they could but it was not to be. People ask Why don’t you send them back and the problem with that is the rest of the food gets cold while you are waiting for them to cook the eggs over again, so I just the eggs . Next time I will order them over easy and see what happens. The service was fantastic and the coffee was good and hot just the way it should be. Next time when I go back to try lunch I will get the hamburger steak with two sides cause the steak is 8 ounces!

Small town diner with friendly staff and great eats! Came here after a section hike of the AT so I was hungry and the Whistle Stop did not disappoint.

We went here for breakfast. The food came out cold and the potatoes were mushy in the center. The eggs were ordered “over easy” and came out “over hard”! The only thing hot was the coffee. Would eat here again.

if you want to come to a restaurant with salt bacon, that will make you break out it’s perfect! service was not the best, one waitress was laughing and us. while the other told us “your thingy is up there”. the owner was extremely rude about us not knowing the status of our food. the eggs were pale and cold.

First visit, new to Crozet . Ordered the Ole Skool bfast plate. Grits were Luke warm , crusty, and clumpy, home fries were cold and pale – not griddled and old, sausage patty was dry and cool – biscuits and gravy like eating the flour paste used for paper mache with chopped up leftover hard , dry pieces of sausage also served room temperature.

Service was great and it’s a neat little place but the food needs more work. The eggs were not mixed well enough for the omelet. It looked more like a hard fried egg. Also it was cooked in too much grease. The potatoes were bland. The biscuits were flat as if the dough had been over worked. The omelet also had very little filling for a western omelet.

Absolutely lovely diner! Perfect location for a breakfast before a day of winery exploration or a hike.
