It’s the best place to eat a blue plate special because their food is seasoned and most of the other places nearly have very bland food, vegetables especially. Everything I’ve ever eaten there has been delicious. Today is a Sunday so I got an extra side with my lunch today. And the other things that drew me there today were mostly the chocolate pie, and spaghetti and meat sauce. Both were amazing!and meat sauce

OMG… This is exactly what I expect when I visit the south… Southern charm
I got to admit that I was a tad frustrated trying to find this place but They hid an absolutely awesome restaurant behind another building. This place is worth looking for – the girls that work there are super sweet and friendly. The building is an warehouse but they did the interior up super cute. The food was delicious. I had the baked chicken with greens and squash casserole. The pice was reasonable. I really don’t know what else you could ask for… friendly staff, great food, cool restaurant, – this is how I invision a southern restaurant to be run… It is worth a second or third visit… AWESOME

I ordered Fried Chicken and 2 sides totaling $11.50 for lunch plate. The food used to be ok but now it’s at a point they don’t care. My chicken was undone and literally you could see it, I called, advised I work in area and would bring it back only to be advised “You could choose something else”. I returned and said I’ll go with fried pork chops and handed the lady my plate back. They swap it out, I get back to eat and faced with my sides wasn’t changed (which was warm for it be 11 lunchtime), no seasoning, gravy was warm and covered to not notice rawness & that’s against food safety. Anytime something is returned through a window that could be contaminated and requires to be served again not to mention THE PORK CHOPS wasn’t done. Raw cooked food could cause salmonella poisoning. It’s unacceptable and I wasted money. This is all to say, every dollar should be valued and every plate should be served to satisfactory of food safety standards

Real southern homemade food and it was all excellent. And a lot of food for the price. I really appreciated the homemade fried okra and bread pudding the way it’s supposed to be (light and fluffy not dense and heavy)! My husband said the greens were like his mamaw made.

This is definitely my new lunch spot anytime I need to come to Jackson. They have some really good hush puppies and the catfish is just perfect. We really like the laid back atmosphere with the cafeteria style tables. It felt like we were at home with the family. The food tastes just like what Grandma makes! I promise. The ladies in the back whipping up culinary perfection seem to really care about what they cook and they are very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Jackson.

Food was all very tasty but supportive staff was the icing on the cake. I was able to stay strong and not order one of their amazing desserts but it was hard. Only able to be strong because lunch was so delicious and abundant.
