2nd time was not the charm. I would encourage ownership to have all their employees and themselves to read “Unreasonable Hospitality” by the master Will Guidara. Because every bit of my only 2 experiences here lacked it. The first time my partner, and I tried to go a couple of Tuesdays ago specifically based off of what we saw on the menu online for both craft cocktails, and food, we were told we should’ve had a reservation. It’s bingo night and one of the servers is leaving so everyone is sad. OK I get that, but the approach of the. “Hostess” was downright rude. “You can sit outside there’s heaters”. in an exasperated tome. I said “no thank you, it still won’t be warm enough in 20° weather.” “Well that’s all I got”. Okay. No problem. We went across the street to 317 and frankly had one of the best meals ever.
But again, because of the interesting menu, we decided to try again last night. We made reservations inside to be safe. Arrived on time there was no one in the restaurant at 6 PM and were told to sit anywhere. I was so excited to finally get the Harry Potter drink. It’s on the website online and was on the menu handed to me. And she told me I’m sorry we don’t have it. Nor the sweater drink. Seasonal beverages but since we’re still in the season of winter doesn’t make sense. But what gets me is what the service tells me… She tells me that they no longer have the soda and they’re not gonna bother getting it back in because they’re going to change the drinks ‘soon’. First of all that’s ridiculous. Change your special menu offerings then so that it’s not false advertising. But when I look at the menu, the soda is cream soda. You mean to tell me you can’t stock a few cans of cream soda in case people order a popular drink? So I ordered the black velvet in my partner orders the King Kong. The black velvet says it has chocolate foam on top. I’m expecting a nice fluffy cold foam on the top of this espresso martini. Instead, I get wilted chocolate whipped cream. My partners drink, though it tasted great was barely half full. Even for an old-fashioned, that’s absurd. For the 1.5 hrs we were there, the server was inattentive, and we had to flag her down to get a second drink. And then the food, which looked really good on paper, tasted awful. I got the drunken chicken and the “crispy fried chicken” was either burnt or made in old oil, the prosciutto tasted old and his buffalo chicken egg rolls were gross. Low-and-behold I’m home sick today with bad stomach cramps and he’s been in the bathroom all day.
So in summary expect employees that don’t want to make the moment right and only do the bare minimum, and possible food poisoning after not enjoying lackluster dishes. A shame because like I said, on paper it all looks good. But the audio don’t match the visual as they say.

First time here and the experience was great. The pub is smaller than most of the other places on the block and you may not even notice it. Do not overlook this place though. The interior is welcoming with a long bar, the biggest drawback is there is only one row of tables 8 maybe that can accommodate 4 people each. There is an outdoor facility not sure if it is used year round.
There is a great variety of tap beers and an interesting cocktail menu with reasonable prices considering what they go for these days. And then there is the food. With a lot of restaurants in Farmingdale there is a lot of competition for your food dollar. The Villager has a wide assortment to satisfy everyone. First glance, the prices will seem a bit higher and they are as compared to some of the other places in the neighborhood. But I believe the quality is a little bit better than the others. It’s just that good. We had the blacken blue burger and the short rib grilled cheese. The hamburger was done to perfection and there were copious amounts of well braised short rib on the sandwich. The fries were top-notch and the potatoes skins were excellent also. We’ve only been there once, but as our experience was so great , we intend to return many times in the future. Just remember, it’s not the biggest place. So if you want to go at a specific time , use their reservation option on their website to guarantee a table.

So it’s taking me a while to write this review only because I’m not really privy to writing reviews but after feeling like they should be my local place to go since I live in the area and for as many times as I’ve been there, I’ve watched this place just go down in quality and up in price. Last night was the last straw for me some of the changes over the summer with the last straw for me, but I casually got together with a girlfriend of mine. We split an appetizer I had wings and a soup. She had a soup. We are had A drink and she had two beers… The food has got consistently worse through time and I understand because I’m not a cheap person that prices go up and things are just relatively expensive so that’s not the problem. The drink was tasty. Her beers were cold so that’s fine but we walked out of there with tip paying like nearly 60 bucks each on those items alone and the quality of the food wasn’t up to par. The baked berry appetizer the sourdough was too big and terrible, and the tomato soup was supposed to be a bisque, but it was very oily and wasn’t the consistency of a bisque and creamy. It was just like a soup Dunn the grilled cheese in it. It was about the only fun thing about that meal and it’s a sad situation because I love this place and they do have a good burger although I haven’t had one in a while and I just feel like the prices. Don’t match up to the quality of the food and it’s rather disappointing. My girlfriend text message me this morning to agree that we’re just not gonna go there to eat anymore because even though we’re not cheap or a little salty of paying $60 each for splitting an appetizer to soups and wings. There’s so many places on Main Street but I feel like this place is such a good last minute neighborhood place that I feel like I shouldn’t be spending over $100 just for a couple of items. It’s one thing if the items are outstanding the service is always great at the bar no issues there but overall it it’s just become a slow downhill disappointment

It is a bar, but super friendly. It’s a Friday night so lots of music and people, but the food is amazing!!! Staff super friendly and helpful! My son had a the grilled cheese with beef ribs – so delicious! I wavered and tried the Big Mick – worth every penny and every calorie!!!

Went on a witchy Wednesday. The nachos with soft rib were ok- could have had more meat overall. The firehouse burger was so good- perfect sauce. The drunken chicken sandwich was good but the burger was better. The drinks were all good. They had some good seasonal drinks as well. The service was OK- had to summon the waitress a couple of times. Overall, we would return for the food and drinks.

This has been my go to spot on Main Street for a while but unfortunately the food quality is going down and the prices have gone up. I went there last week and our waiter was extremely unfriendly. Wouldn’t speak louder while they had bingo going on. My pepperoni flatbread pizza was a special and it was definitely microwaved. Super rubbery. If you go here, stick to their burgers and appetizers. The pretzel is good.

Long island native and this is my favorite bbq bacon burger spot on long island…please tell me of a better place because i have yet to find it lol. They didn’t only have the best burgers but the atmosphere is perfect with bean bag toss in the backyard during the summer to heated tents in the winter and a bar. This is usually me and my pals last bar when bar hopping in farmingdale due to being able to get stuffed with great food, great service, and always a good time. Definitely recommend for all levels of bar goers (people who want a more low key vibe, i recommend shooting straight for the back and not be intimidated as the front could get a bit crowded)
*please note this review is based on a bar hopping experience that usually is like from 10pm-3am, with the kitchen being open late. Also menu is pricey but worth it in my opinion for some great late night food.
Overall a must visit if bar hopping in farmingdale

Where do I start about the BEST bartender and bar back duo Angel Moon and Gavin Frank… both of them were extremely aware and had the whole bar under control while packed! My drinks were great and I never waited for another one. They definitely made our experience here one to remember and we will be back with LOTS of people. Wish them a winning lottery ticket.

A casual eatery with diverse options to choose from. Great service with attentive waiters.
I started with their fried mozzarella which was paired with a vodka sauce. They came out hot, crispy and delicious. For my entree, while the decision was difficult — they have many sandwiches and burgers, tacos and salads, and more. I chose the Drunken Fried Chicken. Parmesan crusted fried chicken, vodka sauce, burrata, prosciutto, pesto emulsion & arugula served on garlic ciabatta. Super good.
