The Guide
Visiting The Village Tavern in Scituate, RI, was a great experience. Parking was hassle-free. The bartender welcomed us and told us to choose our own seats.

The bartender was impressively multitasking, handling multiple roles—bartender, host, waitress, and busboy—yet maintaining great service throughout. She managed to serve drinks, take orders, and deliver food with a friendly demeanor.

The ambiance of The Village Tavern is charming, reminiscent of a rustic lodge. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful.

This little joint stands out, offering a great dining experience in a relaxed and casual setting. I highly recommend visiting The Village Tavern.

A local place to have an “adult” meal! The food was outstanding! We can’t wait to return and try something else. Prices are reasonable and you get quality food with loaded ingredients that makes you feel full!
Small place but cozy. Just bring a sweater just incase you end up sitting near the window.

Got here at 1pm. We had never been here before. The place was small, crowded, and noisy. Our waitress, Candace, was the only server. She did well considering that. It did take 30 minutes from the time we ordered our food until it arrived. Candace apologized. Personally, I get anxious in loud crowds. But if you don’t, the menu had a variety of items not in a typical bar. The portions were huge. I loved the mixed green salad. My boyfriend’s chili was hearty, but not as spicy as he would have liked. In addition to the salad, I had chicken parm, fries, and butternut squash. I would’ve liked to try other menu items, but for me I wouldn’t take the chance this small tavern might be busy and noisy.

Came back 7/11/23. My friend gave his Angus chili and chips just 3 stars.
My grilled veggie wrap and fries gets 3 1/2 stars. Although tasty, some of the fries were cold. I asked for no onions in the wrap but got them anyway. It took quite a while to get it replaced. It was very tasty.
The unsweetened iced tea was refreshing and wasn’t bitter.

The Village Tavern is a cozy little spot — small, but with a great vibe. The food really impressed me! I had the Thai dumplings and the chicken flatbread, both were delicious and full of flavor. Perfect place for a relaxed evening and good food.

Seemed like a nice spot driving by , looked pretty busy for a Monday night , so we stopped in for dinner. It’s very small inside , not a lot of tables , but that would be fine if it cycled a little quicker. We sat down , staff were very friendly , and took our drink orders. We ordered a turkey club and the steak sandwich for dinner . From the time the order went in it took about 55 mins before we saw our food. It wasn’t busy at that point either so not sure what happened. But people after us were getting their food before us . The steak sandwich was good but not what it should have been after an hour. My daughters turkey club ,the toast was so burnt it was like concrete and just crumbled apart. Maybe we just caught a bad day there , but if they can’t keep up on a Monday , it must be something else on a weekend. They might need to look into some extra cooks . I’ll keep this review in the middle . See what happens next visit .

Nice cozy local pub with excellent food. The night we were there it was busy. (Monday in the summer) A gentleman who was at the bar saw an open table and just sat at it when a party of four had been waiting for it. When the staff called him on it he went back to the bar and rudely asked two women to move which pissed off the staff. He was acting very entitled and the staff handled it calmly and professionally. All they did was ask him to wait his turn and he left in a huff. It is a local establishment with a mature crowd. They mixed up my order but it was worth the wait and they even compensated me for my drinks without being asked. Definitely will return again. But come early. Good lunch or dinner fare and excellent seafood. Wife had scallops and i had linguine with clams. They didnt skimp on the amount of seafood either. Desert was excellent as well. Glad we came
