This is a GREAT stop on the way from Sandpoint to Spokane. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, the server was attentive and friendly, and non judgemental of me when I ordered carrot cake for breakfast- more on that momentarily. The breakfast food choices were plentiful from plain eggs bacon sausage to skillets, and pancakes and French toast. The food was clean. I don’t know a better way to put it. The plates were pristine, and the food itself was gorgeous in it’s own way. Fried eggs with yolks that were so colorful and perfectly cooked. Now, my carrot cake- 5 layers of moist scrumptious carrot cake divided by beautiful silky cream cheese frosting. Little lumps of pineapple and strips of carrot sprinkled with golden raisins in a splendid mixture of spices. It was divine.

The workers were very friendly however it did take a while to put my order in.

Hidden gem that adds some sparkle to our drive along the lake. We end up scheduling trips around their hours so we can stop. Fabulous classics. Eggs Benedict done exactly right. End up using the perfectly cooked hash browns to sop up all of the goodness. Cheerful staff, excellent service, fabulous location. Recommended

On Sunday, 25Jan2026, I experienced a wonderful breakfast at the View Cafe with 8 others in our party. The 2 female waitresses were efficient at getting us seated, and our food came in a short time steaming hot on a very cold day Best of all they were cheerful, happy to take care of our needs and had huge friendly smiles. A great experience! I would rate the hospitality of the waitresses as 10 +. Delectable breakfast!

Excellent food, HUGE portions, great service! I had the smoked brisket skillet and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich with parmesan garlic fries, which were excellent. Our friends had the club sandwich and western BBQ burger and said they were both delicious. I dont think you could go wrong with anything on the menu.

THE BISCUITS! Holy Frijoles! Huge enough to be a meal all on its own, even without jam, these are better than Gramma’s!! The breakfasts were done to perfection, and so tasty. The staff was polite and friendly, and the atmosphere was laid back. We can’t wait to try the lunch menu and hope they open for dinner soon!
